Martial arts thread

  1. Hello everyone this is Bumpy, I'm new so I wanted to see if anyone else shares some interests with me. One of my favorites being...martial arts! Do you guys know any martial arts? What style? Any belts? If you don't do martial arts...what kind of martial arts interest you? The ones from Japan, Europe, maybe the Americas? Pretty much just anything about martial arts is welcome! :D

  2. I did Taekwondo as a kid (junior black belt), but I've forgotten most of it. Now I do kendo (shodan).

  4. I'm a master of what is known (to me) as "Jim-jitsu". It's the Seventh most deadly form of martial art.

If that's what it was, it didn't work, so I replied accordingly.

could you tell me about Kendo? I figure searching the web wouldn't be the same as asking a kendoka about it.

You have just forfeited the right to host a martial arts thread.

    Lol why?

I'm just telling the truth...I have never fought a Kung Fu artist worthy of the title.

Kendo, which literally means "the way of the sword," is a martial art that originates from the samurai. It's practiced using bamboo swords called "shinai" and armor called "bogu." Respect/sportsmanship is a big part of kendo, as is fighting spirit and discipline.

I been thinking on taking up either kendo or fencing.
