It's not murder. You're putting them out of their misery, self-defense, to prevent more deaths, etc.

I'm not suggesting anything like this:
But allowing myself to be senselessly killed would be difficult to live with, too.

Don't worry, I'll protect you. B-but not because I like you or anything! I just wouldn't let anyone be eaten by zombies, that's all. (except for Gantz, I'd either kick him to the hordes or shoot him myself)
My RL friends have never doubted my capacity for violence in the right circumstance.

This, and we also have plans in case of a zombie apocalypse. But no plans for our lives atm.

No.
But do you want to live the rest of your life thinking yourself a murderer?
So the choices you give me are:
A) Kill the thing that's trying to murder and eat me, and have a "rest of my life" where I can get counseling for being forced to kill a murdering fiend.
OR
B) Have a clear conscience for 2 seconds.
What to do, what to do?
Diz is how I deal with zombies!

Depends on what's ACTUALLY going on.
Our definition of zombies is based on movies, not facts. If the person really does have some sort of mythical incurable brain disease, by all means, put him down!
Just don't come crying to me if you learn that the guy you killed was a loyal husband and father who had a temporary affliction. It's not my fault that your morals are slipshod.
Nothing wrong with icing somebody if you're in danger, even if it's only a "temporary" situation.
When I was 11 years old, I had no problem waiting with a large knife to stab my father, just in case he hit my mother when he was drunk, because I knew he was under the affects of a substance which inhibited his brain function, and that was definitely a temporary affliction.

I love that scene.

Apparently your reading comprehension is a little off. If you read my original post...

When something is about to chew your face off, whether or not they're "curable" is the least of your worries.
... the danger is immediate, not in the future. If you don't defend your self, YOU ARE DEAD, and your murderer MAY (probably WILL) continue to kill. By not killing in self defense (or in the defense of others), YOU are tacitly complicit in any following murders. YOU are tacitly complicit in YOUR OWN murder.YOU are partially responsible in any following murders. YOU are partially guilty in any following murders. The fact that your murderer MAY have a temporary affliction is irrelevant, if you are dead.
I applaud you for not wanting to kill. No normal person wants to kill another person. If they did, they'd be abnormal, and should be locked up. But circumstances may arise where it is not only necessary, but moral to kill. That doesn't mean it's easy. The police across the country face this dilemma almost every day. If you've ever heard a policeman's reaction to having had to kill someone, they are devastated. Their one consolation is the fact that they saved lives.
Now, lets get off this deadly serious topic, and on to one more fun and enjoyable. Like who's the cutest Touhou character, what did you eat today, did you see that new video, or best yet, lets look at some fresh porn.
