I just played against Lucifer209 when I checked his stats it also said that he wasn't logged on.
So it seems that you'll have a difficult time to hook up and play agaisnt each other. when the server for this site, is actually playing for someone random.
If you play a 2 player and multi player, there is the outside chance you're playing against someone. But its berry likely that you're really playing against the computer most of the tiem.
If I come across someone's name and I recognize it, I'll audit it. Every time they're logged off or has not been logged on for some tiem.
If you're sick of the commercials, and don't want to pay for the commercial blocker.
What you can do is run the game on two tabs.
By the tiem you're done playing one game on one tab, you can switch to the second tab and play that game while the commercials are running on the other tab.
Of course, if you wait to cycle till the new frame comes up you can mute the commercials then switch to the second tab/game. This is preferable if you're also sick of the music, and prefer your own music.

lag on the interwebs doesn't help a whole lot. When you think you're loosing a lot, try deleting your cookies, its those damn tracking cookies and advertising gif cookies that is undermining your game speeds so you loose more often.
