I can understand what you mean... it seems that many games are (just) clones of themselves, just made by different companies...
Kinda the same like hollywood and their (so-called) films... rehashes, bungling bafoonery, and wasted money on re-making classics that shouldn't be made.

LoL = League of Legends .
Mass Effect is a mix of Third Person Shooter with some RPG things where you are/were able to make your own decisions and depending on them x thing will happen causing mayor changes in the main story while Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim is just an RPG . I cant really talk about Skyrim as i havent finished .
LoL is a game. It is like Dota but with some changes to make it easier to play because a much lower learning curve. It also has a different take when it comes to certain things. I like it but Dota is still better personally.

Oh, and I didn't think Scott Pilgrim was that great of a movie. My brother loved it but then again he's a gamer.
For example , im LoL when you are beginning a battle , all the persons starts at Lvl 0 and you start leveling up through the battle , so it doesnt matter if you have been playing since 1 year ago or just begin to play that day , in terms of battling other people is a little fair but obviously those who have been playing since 1 year ago will knows the maps , maybe bought special heros either using real money or virtual one and other special stuff but to win a battle the kill ratio doesnt really make you the winner , your team win if you destroyed other team towers but dont even think in quit a battle half way , your team will just try to get ya banned if you do that

some games should be appreciated as forms of arts , sadly right nao we are flooded with generic storyline and pointless shit in fps (im saying this as really love fps) , plus some person giving bad scores to good games and giving almost 10/10 to generic games because those fuckers are so bought already , so the really worthy games are really buried out there and you need to search to find them , the game industry in a bad sad state right nao
