btw, the JSDF AF fly F2's & F15's

Misawa Air Force Base has F-16s, just like Edwards.

Things that fly and cause noise pollution?

    Jumbo Jets.

well,... not exactly, but pretty darn close. You win 1st runner up. . . 2nd place.
coz civilian airliners do not buzz the neighborhood. If they did - they would make one hella lotta noise.

    somethink about Miasawa AFB

Actually the JSDF's F-2 is a refurbished F-16, its a little bigger than your typical F-16. They look very very similar for obvious reasons.

  4. 2nd runner up means that two people were closer to the answer than me and I highly doubt that.

    I never mentioned the JSDF.

"The United States Air Force's 35th Fighter Wing (35 FW) is the host unit at Misawa Air Base. The wing conducts daily F-16 flight training to maintain its combat readiness edge."

  6. Well you win at the first question. Aneko, the answer is Jet Fighters.

  7. Cool. Now what does "tsukkomi" mean?

As if all the MiG´s 21 -> 29 that flew 50 m over our house, didn't make one hella lotta noise.

  9. In Japanese manzai comedy you have a tsukkomi (like Abbott) and a boke (like Costello).

In anime (like Azumanga Daioh) when someone says or does something stupid and someone else smacks them, the smacker is the tsukkomi. Tomo was the boke to Yomi's tsukkomi.

  10. Ah. Thanks, Aneko.

  11. Fun Fact: F-16s are nicknamed "Vipers" because of their similarity to the Vic Viper of Konami shoot 'em up fame.

this - well some similar circumstances are what spurned the original first question.

I get F-5s, F-15s, F-18s buzzing the capital from tiem to tiem. They're damn annoying.

But an individual jet fighter is a bug compared to being buzzed by a jumbo wide body airliner.

  15. Why would F-18s be flying over Sac? Sisco I understand, but not 200 miles inland.

Yeah, and thanks to DHL I have them 24/7.

There is a full stop ("period", for you Amerifats) at the end of that sentence. Those two things have a full stop in common.

    My logic is flawless.
