Last non-anime movie you watched

  1. last night I watched Empire Of The Sun for the first time in many many years. This was one of my favorite movies as a kid (they showed it on TV all the time) but of course there were many details I never got as a kid.

Ben stiller looks so weird (in a funny) way, and John Malkovich's character is quite an asshole.

Does anyone know what did Jim say to the Sargent when they try to destroy the clinic and when he starts beating the shit out of John Malkovich? I'm sure its something to do with clemency or chill the fuck out.

  2. Nameless Gangster and War of the Arrows were both excellent. I encourage fans of Oldboy to watch Nameless Gangster (they have the same main actor, Choi Min-Shik).

  3. Hell's Kitchen!

  4. The Big Bang Theory after that, I'll take in some suits or Burn Notice, both of which are epic ^__^

  5. Anyone else ever notice how hypocritical it is of Pappgallo (Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior) to act all noble and talk about the importance of humanity, and call Max a scavenging parasite later in the film, when, after Max walked, unarmed, into their compound to return their fallen comrade, they decided to steal his car and equipment, and prepare to kill him?

Yep, still watching 80's movies. Of course, the Mad Max series is awesome. I'd watch it even if I wasn't on an 80's kick.

  9. There were comparisons made pre-release, even by Ridley Scott.

  10. Kinda arrogant of him to compare his own movie to what's considered one of the most groundbreaking films of all time which also helped save MGM from bankruptcy.

  11. An arrogant film-maker? Surely not.

Amazingly well made, but too slow and boring to watch without falling asleep?
