74% approval rating from rotten tomatoes...well fuck that. I really don't know what this movie trying to tell. When you leave the theater, no one will say a single word about the best/worst part of the movie.
And here is the best part, you spend literally 2hours in the theater, not knowing what you are watching, until the final moment of the movie and you saw the 'Extraterrestrial creature'...
That's the 2 hours you have wasted, just to get that message across...how subtle
Of course, some people go wiki and look through everything, and it become clear what the movie serve as. But for moviegoer who dun want spoiler, overall experience of watching this movie is just suck. It's original content and can be a stand alone film. You don't know what the fuck is going on though, you don't know what's the mystery really and you don't know why the mystery is so mysterious that IT'S NOT EVEN EXPLAINED BY THE END OF THE FUCKING FILM.

I'm currently watching "Hausu" because it was on TCM.

Still don't understand why Hausu is so huge. I guess it's because it's a wacky Japanese movie that was discovered by people who don't know how many wacky Japanese movies there are like it.
I saw Schindler's List for the first time. Even with my parents fighting with my bratty little brother who kept trying to leave, and the awful sound quality from the TV, and the scratched DVD that kept skipping, it was still a great film.

I've seen plenty of weird Japanese... stuff... weirder than anything in that, but that doesn't make my brain hurt any less.
I'm guessing it's popularity stems from the relative accessability of the plot, setting, characters, etc due to it's distilled nature. And all the small, young, boobies probably don't hurt it's chances with the target audience for it's re-debut, either.
I watched Schindler's List back when I could watch serious, good movies. Glad I did.

Found my old Jackie Chan video stash while I was cleaning up.
Watched Project A for the heck of it. Loved that one as a kid, even if I didn't get half of what was going on back then.

Films like that are usually a little too sentimental and unrealistic: they go too far in making us try to sympathise. But Schindler's List is very good at portraying the reality of the events and making the characters and situations believable; there's a case to be made for making all children watch it in school during history lessons. I especially liked the rendition of Jerusalem of Gold; unfortunately, the OST version is different from (and inferior to) the version in the film. And Amon Goeth is mai husbando.
Pic related; Schindler's List would have been so much sadder if there'd been ponies to empathise with.

Prometheus: I went in there expecting a mindfuck movie, but the biggest mystery is why people are so confused about the plot and some are calling it an intellectual's movie. The plot is pretty clear cut and is your standard sci-fi fare. It's best to be seen as the very first of the Alien movies though - about the creation of the Alien species.
Starcraft fans might notice the similarity between the Engineer-Alien relationship compared to the Xel'Naga-Zerg one.
I like how the android in the movie was a reference to Data in Star Trek. Also noticed a blooper - the old man's feet were young compared to the rest of his wrinkled body lol.
Cinematography was excellent, but I expect no less from a high budget film these days.
Overall, not a bad movie, but not a great one. Pretty average for a high budget.Posted 11 months ago # -
For the other fans of Korean cinema: I'm going to be watching A Dirty Carnival (2006), Psychic (AKA Haunters, 2010) and Rough Cut (2008) in the near future.
