Space Jam (best movie ever made) - 10 year old me agrees, current me doesn't agree, but won't argue with itNow: I just watched In Time and Chronicle.
In Time was one of those movies that had a cool story, but I didn't think much about it. Out of all the many movies with a future distopian society where one key detail is different, I'd rank this one as a meh. I enjoyed Repo Men, Soylent Green, Johnny Mnemonic and Surrogates a lot more
Chronicle was pretty good. They could've added a lot more (which Im sure they did in the dvds) but oh well, good still. I have this strong feeling that the hospital/Seattle destruction sequence was influenced (or totally ripped off) from Akira.
Again out of this genre of movies (found footage) I liked Cloverfield and The 4th Kind a lot more, but Chronicle was very enjoyable

I agree with most of your remarks on the movies I listed. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon is fairly overrated and not really the best movie unless you want some weird/surreal action scenes. Into the Wild is also overrated, but I feel it's one of those movies that nearly lives up to its hype. It certainly doesn't disappoint, anyway. I just pretty much listed a few of the DVDs I could see on my shelf or that I had on my computer already that I figured were pretty universally accepted and enjoyed.
Space Jam though, I know it isn't the best movie ever made, but even now, I still enjoy watching it from time to time. Just for that nostalgia kick, if anything.

To check if a dvd player you own can be converted to all region, go to videohelp.com, then click on the link to the left and down slightly labeled "DVD Hacks." Enter the make of player in the "Search DVD Player:" field and hit search. Scroll through the list of players until you find the model number of yours. Click on the "View xx region code comments" in the Hacks column. These will tell you if and how your player can be converted to all region. If your player can't be converted, check players at your favorite home electronics store in the $25 to $60 range. Write the make and model numbers down, take the list home and check them on the video help website. I'm excited for The Great Gatsby and Les Miserables. I love Carey Mulligan. I think I'll always prefer the 1974 version of Gatsby, though. This new one feels too anachronistic, especially the choice of music...

I'm super stoked for The Great Gatsby as well. It has a pretty remarkable cast and is directed by Baz Luhrmann, a director that hasn't created a movie yet, that I haven't loved. So not only does it have cast and director going for it, it looks absolutely gorgeous! I'm a huge fan of period pieces, so I really have no doubts about it.
Les Miserables, I think I'll like because again, it's a period piece, but I don't really like Hugh Jackman or Russel Crowe, so that will put a damper on it for me. It looks decent though.

I actually ripped that cam of the Avengers from youtube and just watched it today. I'd go see it again in theaters, I really enjoyed it.

I really like period pieces too~ I hope they stay true to the book and portray the Roaring '20s properly, not taking too many artistic liberties.

With Luhrmann, there may be too many artistic liberties. Just look at what he did with his modern interpretation of Romeo and Juliet... I loved it and how it came out, but I can imagine to a real fan of Shakespeare, that it was probably too much. I suppose only time will tell.
