I'll need a recording, like one made on Audacity, because I need to analyze the sound waves and such~

Thanks, that's really cool~ I need a recording of a specific passage I have on hand though. I'm studying language variation in the U.S., and with this particular task I'm looking at the linguistic variables known as 'g-dropping,' the low back merger, and 'u' fronting.

    g-dropping,

There's a way to record skype conversations on audacity. The podcast I'm a part of does this all the time when we have interviews with people in other locales.

I'd be willing to take part in the project, but is it important that participants have accents that match the region they live in? I'm from the part of the country where most people speak with an Upland Southern accent, but I don't normally speak with one since my family on my dad's side are transplants from central Illinois.

  6. My friend talked to me about yugioh for half an hour. Yugioh is cool and all but i'd wish he'd talk about other things.

  7. Feh... fine, I raised my hand three times, they saw it very clearly each time, and then go to everyone else's questions who raises their hand after me? Fuck it, I guess I what I have to say wouldn't have been that interesting to these dorks after all.

Too bad, I actually kinda liked this class until now.

    Mp3 would be just fine.

    Can I rap?

Unfortunately no, it needs to be a natural speaking voice~

    No, it isn't necessary 'u'

As long as I know that information, it's all fine!

Here is the passage for those who are interested:

All I need is a clear (sufficiently audible with little to no background noise) recording in the form of an mp3 or wav file. I would also need to know where you grew up from the ages of 4-12. Feel free to PM me if you decide to go through with it~

That's what i did. What i got was an awesome storyline and some great characters like Garrus.<3 (he's such a bro)
Never cared much for the gameplay though.

  19. the gameplay might be a bit hard to relate with, at the beginning. Especially with the first. How much does it cost on steam, by the way?

I don't think this can be stressed more. The overall gameplay in the first game is horrendous.

15€, I believe Mass Effect 2 is about the same.
Shame that the Christmas sale doesn't last this long considering that it was 5€ for both Mass Effect 1 and 2 during a big part of it.
