Your Daymonogatari - I'm Platinum Mad!

Yes, but for someone else's mother you have to use Hiragana too.

yep it looks like this お母さん

When its you mom you can use that kanji by its self and it means はは(mother).
For other people it is お母さん(おかあさん( for other people's mother.)) Most people call their own mother かあさん or はは.

  5. I learned it as the difference between how you address your mother (when you're talking to her) and how you refer to her (when you're talking about her).

Yeah, my teacher was pretty strict about how we address our parents when we were speaking about them.
She says that children tend the use the honorific blindly regardless.

  8. A more informal term for addressing your own mother would be ofukuro.

On topic: I was a bit miffed when I was checking my package track and the ETA supposedly got moved to Monday. Imagine how relieved I was when I got a knock on the door and the guy had my package delivered today.

Yes. Well, actually I guess it depends...But if you harden his personality he will be much more open to becoming king.

    Most likely.
It - more accurately, the mug - blew up when I poured the coffee.

    Course for what?

It's a course about "finding what you want to do and how to get there". It's mostly just a course related behavioural sciences - if that's what you call it. Fairly interesting thus far at least.

How it'd all go down boss?

He kept trying to justify himself by joining the Navy with lame arguments like he wants to defend the country or for liberty or whatever in a rush to join.

But he only really wants to do it to get money and leave his parent's house - which is cool. But the job he wants to do involves nuclear power which takes a lot of study time and hard ass work at the bottom end of the ship.

The Navy recruiter pushed this onto him and have told him there are no other jobs available, but they are clearly lying. I suggested to him he wait to pick another job, but nuke, he said, will get him in the Navy, the quickest way in. I think he is making a big mistake.
