Fucking panicking atm (first world issue, nothing life threatening). Someone on facebook just messaged me trying to hook me up with this girl named Rose for prom. I barely know her but she thought I was the coolest dude during the Greece trip which isn't right because I was drunk half the trip and I totally don't believe I can entertain her for the night because my personality is kind of plain. I don't want to be that guy who gets drunk before prom thinking it'll make him a better person but I can't possibly imagine being the kind of person she may or may not think I am.

And even though it's a real pain in the ass most of the time, when you can actually just be yourself and then hear from your friends you charmed everyone to no end... yeah, that's when you feel like a king, damn it. That's when it pays off, and believe me, it feels really good.

Today is my brother's birthday. Yesterday, the family went out to eat dinner together. It was nice. The restaurant we were eating at was having a wedding reception at the same time. 'Twas cool.

You're right Nin, It's better to have tried and failed then to have run away and missed what could become a wonderful time. Since I'm not happy with how I am now I at the very least have a month to work on my conversational skills.

If not, go for it. But don't put yourself out. Just act normally. If she can't appreciate your company when you're sober, it's not worth putting up an act that will get unraveled later.

It obviously makes you a far more entertaining person.
Maybe in time she'll get to know you better and will be able to put up with you while you're sober, but right now you have the opportunity to be the first boy in your middle school to lose his virginity. Get drunk, fell great, get laid.
