If I were to to give the leaders of the US a grade for their economic policy over the past 12 years it would be a Z why a Z because an F means they still could be getting things half right.
What they have done is pretty much screw up in every possible way imaginable.
A kindergartener could make better decisions.Example no one has done jack until very recently about the high oil prices even though they are extremely destructive to the economy and are even partly responsible for the banking melt down of 2008.
Then there's the flood or counterfeit trash from China and rewarding companies who off shore US jobs vs string them up by their own petards and tax the hell out of them when they do stuff like that.
I'd vote for Ron Paul because at least he support civil liberties vs being both a screwup at economics 101 and a control freak who takes their lessons from Joseph Stallin.
