They are cheap, delicious, and filling.

By that I mean bake some potatoes, Chop them up and fry them, then use a masher (not a fucking whisk or hand mixer) to mash them up with the bacon and cheddar while they're still warm so it gets all melty and good. You want it chunky and not smooth, Salt and pepper to taste.
If you want to take it up a notch top with a gravy of your liking. Personally I'm a fan of white pepper.
