I don't have all of the details, but the stories may not all be by the same person or circle, so yes, it could be hit or miss for some people. I also had the impression that only some of the art is the gentle and suggestive style that I prefer.

Love the new sisters. Nina is like yuri's take on Nisekoi's Chitoge and she is so pretty. Sara ls adorable and I love her interests about horoscopes and destiny. Looks like Yuzu has found some competition again with Sara falling in love with Mei. Would be nice to see Nina falling in love with Yuzu as well.

Despite that (and that I love age-gap yuri), I am not going to watch the show. It is just not my interest. However, I am glad that it ended that way. This shows that the yuri genre still has hope.
Since WIXOSS has ended, I think Mari Okada should write for the Citrus' anime adaptation. It has been long overdue.
