Where's Nyaa.eu? Commie? Horrible? What's going on with the fansubbing community? A bunch of sites are completely down, as if they were removed from the DNS listings. Did fansubbers get some kind of forcible cease-and-desist? Have the feds simply cut off the web access to their sites, or did they take them down voluntarily?

Streaming <- quick and easy
Direct dling <- practical and effortless
Torrenting <- usually the fastest way to dl, but speed degrades as time progresses heck, we always download recently shown anime. It's always the fastest way.
I like keeping my animu, so I don't stream.
I like watching anime at not-shitty resolutions, so I torrent instead of streaming. Direct dl is usually really slow.
Streaming is usually lousy quality, and the higher quality streams just strike me as horrible waste of bandwidth if I watch a series more than once. I dislike relying on the streaming server to always be there in the future and the assumption that I'll always have a stable internet connection.
Anyway, Nyaa tends to vanish now and then. Doubt it's anything serious.

It's down for the thousandth time like it sometimes is, for maintenance or whatever reason. It'll be back up eventually.
Commie, Underwater, HS etc. are all hosted on Nyaa's servers so if it goes down they all do.

Nyaa has gone down in the past. I actually made a thread about it when it happen.
Yep...Nyaa went down at least 3 times in the past months... it will be back in a day or two... or a few hours.

Really? The last time I checked HorribleSubs and Commie were hosted in the US, while Nyaa was hosted in Sweden.
