Ultimately they were too pussy to end it in a Cool WTF way such as...

*House dies and meets God/Satan (his version) and comes back
*House's leg gets cured of leg issues and finds Inner-Peace?The bulk if the dramatic journey is ironically put on Wilson this season. Wilson had no cool "Mystical Adventure" to change House's view of Life.
The ending did make 'sense' given the House journey and it's a cute 'safe ending'. But with all the seasons and all the Puzzles you'd think they'd come up with something more Psychologically Interesting. It was what it was and "ending".
They would never do it, but I would have loved to see something like this:
House and Wilson disappear under the trees. Music swells up then fades out. Fade to black. Fade in. Night. A bedroom somewhere in London. A young man sleeps in the bed. He tosses and turns, moaning as if having a terrible nightmare. Suddenly, he sits bolt upright, wide awake, emitting a horrendous scream. Within seconds, rapid foot steps can be heard approaching the door. The door flies open and a man about 40 enters:
"Sir, sir. Are you alright?"
"Y-yes. I-it was j-just a horrible dream. I-i was a doctor in the States. I walked with a limp. I was brilliant and cured lots of people, but I treated everyone horribly, even my best friend, who was dying."
"Would you like a cup of hot cocoa to sooth your nerves, Mister Wooster?"

Schools everywhere are that bad: British teenagers are complete cunts and we went really hardcore with the "don't hurt their self-esteem" school of educational thought. But my reasoning was more that Birmingham itself will fuck a person up. If nothing else, you'll become clinically depressed just by listening to that accent all day. Going to boarding school keeps children away from their home town during term time.
