so, I'm trying to adjust my monitor, because I'm getting the impression that what I see isn't exactly what everyone else sees. and when i'm drawing, or more specifically coloring, I need to be able to see what other people see. so is there anyway for me to calibrate it or something? I know this might sound stupid. Maybe there's something like in video games where they have you adjust the brightness setting. you know, where they say to make it darker ti'll you can't see the words all the way at one end or something like that but for colors and contrast.

hey, so I just recently started a blog on tumblr, and I'm not really liking the community, pretty much because there is none. So does anyone know a good place for a free blog that's... well, better than tumblr? I'm looking for something that has a little more ways to interact with people and to customize the blog better without having any knowledge of html other than being able to copy past code that others have written.
I've heard wordpress is a pretty good place to start a free blog but i don't really know if it's true or if it has the kind of things i'm looking for.

Wordpress is great.

From reading the FAQ and documentation, WordPress seems perfect for what you've just described. My second choice would be Blogger.

I tried this in Random Pictures, but I'd prefer not to get a smartass answer, so here goes:

Rika's pink bikini is super cute, but did swimsuits like that even exist in child sizes back in 1983? I can't let possible anachronisms go.Posted 11 months ago # -
Did they exist in what reality? You do know what Higurashi is about, don't you?

Well if the question is if children wore bikinis in 1983, then the answer is yes.

I think that kind of answers my question, but specifically, it was about whether children in Rika's age range (about 9 or 10) wore ones that skimpy. Even if pink string bikinis were available in 1983, and I'm pretty sure they were, I'm curious as to whether there were ones in kid sizes like there are today.
Maybe one of the older people here can tell me from what they can remember of that era.

hop in your delorean and go back to 1983 then. i think antika gave you a pretty solid answer.

Not as specific as I'd hoped. You must admit, it's a valid question of particulars.

But if the purpose is to find an anachronism in a fictional setting...

But if the purpose is to find an anachronism in a fictional setting...I found Higurashi to be pretty good with keeping technology and stuff accurate to the chronological setting, with the possible exception of Mion's taser. In any case, Rika looks adorable in her swimsuit, regardless of whether one could feasibly obtain one like that back then, or whether Miss Furude was a trendsetter with a good tailor. Not a big deal. Besides, it's not too much of a stretch if her string bikini is an anachronism after all.

It's quite daring for a rural 1980s Japanese loli, though. Another reason Rika-chama is awesome.
