What do you think about the voices of strong anime females?

  1. For example Tsunade in Naruto. She has a very strong, distinguished voice that non-anime fans would say is more masculine. A female friend of mine said she hates it when some women sound "man-ish". I know this sort of voice is common amongst strong female characters so what do you guys think about it?

    I happen to like it.

  2. I don't specifically like it, but I don't dislike it either.

    It's just there.

    No complaints.

In times it may get pretty "cool", but it depends on who's talking in the first place. Most of the time it's even better that way on certain characters.

Right and fitting voices for characters with that certain character.

As is any other voice types with character types.

  5. Depends on how low it is. There is a line where it gets a little too manish, but at the same time lots of anime go way too far the other way.

Olivier Mira Armstrong is a woman (the older sister)

Alex Louis Armstrong is the muscle-man (the younger brother)

  10. I like it. I think that kind of voice in a woman is sexy. It has to be kind of dark and raspy. Mmmmmm <3 <3

  11. A characters badassery really just depends on the passion of the voice actor.

Motoko Kusanagi's English voice was good because Mary Elizabeth McGlynn really got behind her character's personality.

But notably less tough looking characters can be pretty badass too. Nia Teplin's Japanese voice being an example.

  12. I have no problem with this. One of my favourite female characters, Lamia Loveless, has a perfect tone.
