Cute, although I hate how ugly and cheap the ears look. I'd take it apart, hide the motor under a wig and make better ear covers for it.

It isn't emotion detecting, but brain waves in general. You have to not think of the ears and then they will react. If you try to focus on things like emotions they won't register properly. It has a magnet on the piece on our forehead and a magnet on the piece clipped onto your ear. Through these it detects brain waves and moves the ears according to the waves the magnets detect.
Ill take some photos of how the ears look without the ears themselves and a lot of people did do just that as far as hiding the ugly exterior of the ears under a wig.
