Funny story! If you may or may not know, I am close friends with a cute lesbian, and I ended up really liking her. She has a gf and everything, so I got rejected and we both agreed to not be so close aka avoid each other.
This was like a month ago I think... anyways, (present)I haven't seen her for 2 weeks and suddenly she showed up at my work place for a surprised visit...
It seemed like she wanted to talk about something so I offered to hang out after work.
First thing she said to me, 'oh hey I broke up with my gf, was emotionally unstable for a few days but I'm fine now and decided to visit you'... so we hung out for 3 hours, talked, walked around, had dinner, and before we parted ways, I told her 'I couldn't missed this chance to ask', and reminded her that 'I do indeed still really like you' AND.....

If you like and trust a girl, then you need to take her words at face value.
Mainly what i'm trying to say is, I think you looked to deep into what she meant by telling you she was single. I wasn't there but I understand it as she was merely updating you on her situation, not trying to imply that she is ready for you. Also asking her out again after 2 weeks of not seeing each other and while she is still getting over a break up doesn't sound like the ideal moment either.
They say distance heals all wounds, and I think the two week hiatus between your friendship with her gave her enough time to forget that you asked her out so this was her way of trying to rebuild the friendship.
