She's dragging him around alot. At episode 2, when he told her to go herself to check out something, at first I tot it was the girls toilet, thats why he aint wanting to follow, but either way she pulled him along, well turns out to be the art classroom.

  6. I can't resist the temptation to watch Hyouka, but current torrent release all seems to be mid-range quality, while the MX 1280*720 still raw =(

Its really hard not to be kyoani or shaft fanboy when it comes to anime. They just seems to be the best when it comes to animation quality.

Anyways, just finished Saki ep3,...and i do not like how the anime goes. i Know it cater more toward the yuri development than the actual mahjong gameplay itself.

But i wish they would focus a bit more on mahjong rather than, this girl got this special ability, that girl got that special ability, thus they win the game. At least show us some good strategic mahjong play to counter those monster, not just steamrolling through the whole process of mahjong gameplay.

Side note though, those who thought this anime is prequel to 1st season of Saki are wrong. It run parallel with 1st season timeline, but how this new team completely out of sight on the 1st season still bother me, especially when they are aiming on the same national tournament. I guess i have to see more to find out.

Just download [gg]'s release, it's in 720p and the quality is acceptable.
You won't get anything else anyway, at least not until the BD comes out.

I'm kinda pissed that WhyNot dropped Medaka, so now the only availbable alternative is HS; I downloaded their Medaka ep 5 and the quality is really horrible.
FFFpeeps are doing it too but they're slow as fuck.

You mean there's mahjong in Saki?
Huh I must've somehow missed it...

    I wonder why?

  8. ^come on, at least on first season, they did that. They will read the tile, telling us what tile they need to complete the hand, reading the pond, breaking up some of their strategy.

Not as detail as Akagi, but there is definitely mahjong going on. Season two totally have no mahjong at all, and i'm not happy with that.

I might be one of those minority that prefer watching saki as epic mahjong battle than yuri anime with mahjong theme.

They are breezing tru the match, until some important ones. This Season is prolly gona be about 12 episode, and they need to reach Nodoka by then.

The first Season Saki is completely about how Kiyosumi(Saki's Team) win their way tru the perfectual match and into the National, and ends there. While this one they show Achiga won the perfectual match in like the 3rd episode, and they are in National. Both School are in different region/perfectual so they dont meet each other until the National Matches. So basically, they are gonna tell the story from Achiga point of view this time round, and by what I see so far, Achiga is aiming to just wanting to play with Nodoka again while Kiyosumi is kinda of like aiming to defeat Saki's sister. Btw you can consider Episode 1 of Saki Achiga Hen to be Prequel.

  10. I watched the first two episodes of Sengoku Collection this morning. It wasn't bad. It wasn't great either, but it's good enough to continue watching.

Well I for one am definitely not gonna complain about the current developments in the new Saki.

Now granted I have not seen the first Saki so I'm missing a lot that's for sure but from what I've seen in Saki threads the first one also had it's fair share of yuri.

    Just wait till episode 4.
Episodes 2-3 were all cute and moe but then suddenly episode 4 - crime, mafia, murders, drugs, prison etc. I mean... what the hell happened there?

So I'm not the only one who's seen Akagi. It's like the anti-Saki, the complete opposite other than being about mahjong prodigies.

  14. ^subbed? Link.

Fate Zero is giving me Game of Thrones vibes(brutally killing off main characters that you like). I really wanted to see Tokiomi fight some more. He seemed strong.

    Let's talk about Upotte:

AR-18 intrigues me. She's not featured in the OP and wasn't introduced until the third episode. Yet, she seems to be roommates(and possibly best friends) with Funko, and a relative to M16. She's like Nodoka, the fifth wheel. I would like to see more of her.

Does Sig not have to participate in the tournament thingy? Maybe 'cause she has top scores or something.

My favorite character is definitely Elle. As far as favorite guns go, I like the M14, descended from the M1.

He died as he lived, understanding nothing.

But you're kinda late to the party motaku, tomorrow we'll new episodes for both F/Z and Upotte so we can discuss it then.

I watched them earlier in the week. I just forgot to talk about them and wanted to get that off my mind before the new episodes came out.

Anyone who love mahjong would have watched Akagi, heck i still playing JanRyuMon from time to time, i might not win most of my game, but i still love mahjong for its competitive play.
