IRL meet ups do happen and usually (after) everyone has known each other for awhile.
It's not - "instantaneous" - as (it appears) your stating/asking here..
Maybe, posting more, becoming more a part of the communicative process will give everyone a chance to - "get to know you"
~ so they can plan for the - eventual - to happen...
(Yes, this is SanCon) and I left it - "open" - like that for a reason...

Also to add on to this at least with the members in the US it also sems to happen more at conventions than anything else.

Hey guys- I was just wondering if anyone wanted to meet up in the surrounding area and hang out. Ever since my daughter moved out of the basement I've had no one to hang out with irl, and I'm kinda lonely.

There have been lots of sancon meetups. I believe this was the first one. Then there are con meetups in New York, California, and Texas I believe. And here's an interesting thread that might fit your interests.

I Google'd "Where is Perth" and the "where is" I typed in was omitted by Google, and the first result was a map. Typing "Perth" alone results differently.
