Hardcopy Eromanga?

  1. So I noticed an ad for Kisaragi Gunma's Love Selection, and lo and behold, it's been localized and is sold on amazon...
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/160699431X/scxml-20

Now this is the sort of thing I'm interested in supporting artists for, but when I think about the reality of having a physical copy, I have to stop and wonder "why"? Anytime I actually want to view the content, I'm better off opening it with Cdisplay, that was I get bigger pictures, I can page through one handed, and I don't need to worry about pages getting sticky...

Does anyone here actually buy physical copies of eromanga, and how does the experience actually compare to digital viewing?

  2. IMO it's much more convenient to just fap to ero-manga on your computer. I'd never bother fapping to a physical copy of an ero-manga. If I had the money to spend on anything I want then I'd buy the manga to support my favorite ero-mangaka, but I would still fap to the scans online.

  3. I remember talking to a bro about this. He said;

"I jacked off to eromangas on the monitor for so long that I can't imagine buying a hard copy."

Of course, he didn't mean that he wouldn't pay for it, but I can see his point. Also, shit looks as big as your monitor, and it sure as hell is bigger than the regular A5.

Me? I can't imagine wanking to any porn via any media other than on the PC. I need to also hear Saori Hara's moaning to get full hard-on, haha.

Digital pages are indeed more convenient. I'd buy the books only for collectionism purpose

With a book you could bring it around with yourself, but at the risk to ruin it, and that's not an accettable outcome

Well, is the risk of ruining it really that high? There have been plenty of times I've brought a manga with me before. I just put them in my schoolbag and they stayed fine.

  6. If you're so bent on buying hard copy, you run a risk of it being impounded if its sent from overseas.

For example there is presently a ban on hardcopy porn from Japan to the USA. Suspected packages are opened and checked for contraband/banned items - when & if found, you'll probably notice a few strange vans parked in your neighborhood soon enough.
IF this is the case, you might like to back-up your files before they come when you're not home and confiscate your computer.

I'd say that you have a higher chance of ruining an ero-manga than a regular manga. When you're reading an ero-manga, there's a good chance that you'll be spraying some sticky bodily fluids at some point during your reading. If you're not careful, then that stuff could land on the pages and leave marks (and make the pages stick together).

Ah... You're right. Not to mention that the sweaty hand you're holding the book with could moisten and pucker the pages.

Of course it's not assured, but to "use" a eromanga you need a free hand, leaving only one with the task of keeping it open thus heightening the chance of ruining it
Also, you'd use a eromanga much more often than a regular manga

See, I never understood that. I bought a couple of ero magazine when I was 14 or so, but never ever spilled anything over it. Is it really that hard?

Quit fear mongering. US customs only inspect suspicous packages. A book run through the x-ray scanner won't raise any flags.

Other contries whose customs officials like to hold packages hostage is another story.

This is also a big problem if your trying to keep you manga undamaged. Keeping a manga open with one hand all the time nearly guaranties that pages will get bent (and possibly ripped).

I think I've only spilled something on a book once and it wasn't an ero-manga (since I've never owned an actual ero-manga). Back when I was 7, I spilled some soda or juice on an issue of zoobooks (the free elephant issue) and the pages all stuck together after that. The pages ripped apart when I tried to separate them.

  13. Hardcopy. Ohoho~

I own an eromanga. I bought it because I liked the story and art.

I wouldn't fap to a physical book since it might get damaged. But I would buy it for archival purposes.

Anyway, if it's being sold by Amazon, don't worry about it being inspected. No one's going to question an Amazon package.
