Animage's Anime Grand Prix - The Best animes of 2010 and 2011.

  1. Every year, anime rag Animage (together with Newtype and Animedia, the biggest publication about japanese animation in Japan) make the ''Anime Grand Prix'', an award that elect's since 1979 the best's animes of the japanese fiscal year (beggining of Fall season - end of Winter season) according to the opinion of your editors, reader's and professionals of the industry.
In 2011 it was celebrated the 33th edition of the event.

Must be remembered that exists 2 version of this annual ranking of ''best'' animes made by the Animage magazine, one of them is the one you can see below, and the other it's launched on the July Issue and take as parameter only the votes of the reader by the Animage website. Many times the results of the 1st place in both lists are the same, but sometimes they enter in conflict (for example, last year Eden of the East won the 1st place on that version of the ranking, but in the ranking made by votes was the anime K-ON! who got the 1st place).

  6. I loved K-ON. Loved it's characters, loved it's plot, loved it's humor, and I seriously loved every part of it. But even if this is so, I have to disagree about it being the "Best anime of 2010-2011".

I have no idea what to say to properly explain my statement, since I seriously loved watching it, so I'll just leave it at that.

I can kinda get the answer to that question.

Everyone who's seen Ika Musume, loves Ika Musume, she's adorable. The show was funny and enjoyable. But that was it. Good scenes weren't plenty and weren't focused on, which is probably the basis for a "good anime". It was mainly comedy.

Which is also probably why K-ON! won best anime. It had a lot of great, memorable, heart-warming scenes, and a wonderful light-chested ending.
(No, it isn't the moe. Although the moe was a big plus)

I take back my very first statement~~~~

A thing that I realized when I look at it is that the 2nd list (made with the votes of the readers of Animage) is much more focused on the yaoi fandom (and occasionally moe otaku) than the first list (made by the editor's).

The first one have some actually good and awarded animes, like Tatami Galaxy and Colorful, both of the most awarded animes last year.

Maybe the lack of plot? Though I remember hearing last half of k-On!! had moments when the characters relationships developed more. I don't remember though.

The second season did have more plot than the first one. Since it was the senior year for the Keion-bu (sans Azu-nyan) and the manga was suppose to end after graduation, there was a deeper focus on the characters relationships and their actual school life (not too deep though, this is still a moe-blob after all). The second half of season two focused almost entirely on things like graduation, their final school festival (the scene after their last school concert could bring a tear to anyone's eye, K-on fan or not), and college entrance exams (which was actually given more attention in the manga). The relationships between the characters was highlighted more, especially Azu-nyan who had to come to terms with the fact that her sempai wouldn't be with her next year.

Knew this was gonna be asked while I was typing it.

Anyway I was talking about it's different stories each episode. In K-ON, just like any other slice-of-life anime series, each and every episode has it's own story. It's own plot, and altogether, forming an entire story on it's own. At least that's how I can explain it.

    "Loved the story". There.

The whole series to me was them doing there favorite after school activities of playing in a rock and pop band, eating, making music, and dealing with everyday school life.
