At the end of the day manga looks the same. The only thing to differ are things like how well its drawn or the size and shape of some features. There could be a fantastic artist on this site. I've seen artists mentioned on the front page who I don't like - it's all a matter of taste. Some people may look realistic-looking people, some may like stylized people (like in One Piece). Some may like disproportionate people (like big boobs).
At the end it's all down to opinion isn't it? The same with American comics.
Personally I see artists features like the face the same to another artists which makes manga in general lack variety. This is just me talking.
1. As long as it looks good, I guess it doesn't matter if they all look similar. Takes talent+practice to make good drawings, and besides, all human beings have the same two eyes, a nose and a mouth anyway.
2. STORY. A manga is basically a variant of a story-telling medium that is called 'comics'. You can make 30 pages of Rennaisance-era quality comic, but if the story is as lame as any script in an Uwe Boll film, you ain't got shit. Some manga with kindergarten-grade artwork like Crayon Shin Chan survives on story alone, for example. You may want to argue that Shin Chan's story was based around a 5-year-old, but the short chapters aren't all in his POV.
I don't think you're really looking to debate intelligently on this issue though, TC. Your lack of sense and research gives me the impression that you're either just trying to spark a flame war, just bored, or both.
