Anyone using Hotfile? It seems they are removing links much more proactively than in the past, and checking on a lot of links to check if they are *legit*. Any idea why the sudden surge in this?

I think they are required to do heavy checks by law. MegaUpload, FileServe and other popular media hosting sites do it too, although I agree that Hotfile is being excessively adamant.

They never reply emails and often ban accounts with warning but the main thing is, other direct downloaders were still fine in terms of links killing speed, just not Hotfile these days

Actually they were recently sewed by some holloywood movie copyright holder and they began going bat shit crazy, like what happened to youtube.
