the novelization of starship troopers by kevin j anderson

It would be better to read the original, Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein (1959) (Hugo Award for Best Novel 1960), than a novelization based on a screenplay by a man, Paul Verhoeven, who never finished reading the book.

    It's hilariously bad.

Seriously though, tt's just a really bad romance novel.

  7. Read Goethe's Faust. I liked it, but the second half was really really tiring to read for me. I spended like 3/4 of the time searching for reference to understand wtf is beeing talked about. Maybe i'm too ignorant in greek mythology.
I'm starting to listen the audio book of Dan Simmons's Hyperion and i'm really liking it so far.

    Anything Murakami is wonderful.

Started reading the Song of Ice and Fire series. It's exactly what I'm looking for in terms of high fantasy. :>

She was the main reason I started watching Game of Thrones and the main reason I want to start reading the books. I really want to see what happens with her and her dragons.

For erotica it has too much stupid plot, too little sexiness, and for a novel for teens it has too much objectifying women and too much bossy Christian making sure Ana eats. I swear in every chapter Christian forces her to eat properly and finish her plate even when she's not hungry. WHAT'S THE POINT OF THAT WHO CARES IF SHE EATS OR NOT

Characters are basically S&M versions of Edward and Bella from Twilight, unsurprising since the series started off as Twilight fanfiction.

I got that as a birthday present years ago and never read it. I think I might still have it somewhere.

As for real books, I went to Half-Priced books to look up more Murakami novels after having enjoyed Kafka on the Shore. They happened to have Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World for $7.50, so I picked it up. Gonna read it after I finished Spice and Wolf vol. 6 and Faust Anthology vol 1.
