   Why is it that the majority of anime fangirls in real life that one encounters (especially at conventions) all fall into one of the 3 following categories?

   1. Crazy hyper idiot 15 year olds obsessed with (insert shoujo or naruto character here)

   2. Egocentric pretty girls dressed as slutty pokemon that stroll the convention halls for all the looks and stares from sad ronery otaku... who usually end up snagging the biggest douchebag hipster Asian guy they can find--only to break up after the little prick gets laid.

   3. Quiet introverted girls who--although seemingly normal--have crazy dark secrets including but not limited to: rape,are bipolar, believe they have special powers, wish they were boys (inherently lesbian),etc.

   Factoring in the surplus of all the creepy 200lb female forms of the super otaku,that covers almost every girl that likes anime. Where are all the normal girls who aren't slutty, who were raised to be a normal functional member of society, who actually practice the virtuous ways of the typical anime female character?

   Plenty of anime loving dudes model their persona off of the cliche male protagonist. Relatively innocent, sometimes shy, thinks about little favors he can do to please a girl, strong sense of justice, deep thinking, etc. If Japanese and American male anime fans alike can model their lives after the relatively virtuous successful anime male lead, why is it seemingly none of the girls out there do the same, and instead act slutty or like hyper idiots?

   That's your problem. The best kind of otaku girls you meet at regular places. You don't notice it because they hide their power levels.

   Some women have a lot of issues, some have only a few. Conventions seems to concentrate the former, though.

   Don't expect to pick up a well-adjusted person when you hit on an attention whore, that's common sense.

   I prefer to meet girls at coffee shops and library/book stores. Just avoid the hipsters, and you're good.

   Also, most importantly, remember that you're kinda crazy too.

   "Hiding their power levels" doesn't help... Guy's don't have internal metal detector type mechanisms that can dictate if a girl is into the things we like or would take one look and laugh hysterically... :/

    well you're at a convetion -.- duh thats all you're gonna find. its like saying i wanna meet a guy thats not sex hungry at a gay bar...

    but men otaku are a bit on the crazy side as well.

    just remember, anime attracts the weridos like cake does fat kids. and its not just the girls believe me :/

    You don't appreciate the hunt. What, you want some cute girl to come up to you and say "Hi, I like anime. Want to go out with me?"

    You have to be able to stalk your prey and gather intel.

    If only that were true. On the contrary, because of the observations listed above, I've never dated an anime fangirl because they're mostly all like that. I do have plenty of convention friends who tell me all sorts of stories over dinner that reflect these observations though.
    The OP post is more of a lamentation of the lack of level headed normal girls in our niche hobby.

    Right.... They bait us to hunt our prey but in the first 30 seconds of us observing what it might be you're playing on a DS we're suddenly creepy nosey stalkers... kind of a taboo.

    Most guys at anime conventions seem to think of themselves as excellent, kind people, when they're usually far crazier (and clingy, desperate, OCD, etc.) than any of the girls there.

    Haha go to a convention than complain about sexy pokemon chicks...oh lord. Like Karina said what do you expect? Women like being sexy and just like halloween it's an excuse to dress as such! Although some of them are just...EW. lol

    Btw I don't like this stereotype that all otaku girls are in love with asian guys. Honestly they look like dolls to me and..just..no...NO..NOOO. And I really don't find the guys at anime conventions to be all that mentally stable either :p But that's why I like cons. It's sexy and fun and also smelly and crazy haha.

    2 - think about what anime is. come on.

    its like me saying why isnt there any non-loli loving guys on sankaku...

    also, they might just be acting that way BECAUSE they're at a convention.

    3- Look at kodomo no jikan, Ore no imoutou, and Onii-san no koto

    arent they all sex hungry? arent they anime girls? i thought guys liked girls that were sex hungry. i dont see why you complain...unless you're gay :/
