LOL at everyone just ragging on Obama personally, instead of actually discussing the issue. I for one am glad the US elected Obama, instead of an indecisive moron.
Saving $100 billion is a pretty big deal, too. Saving $60 billion by not awarding double grants for summer school, another $29 billion by reducing loan subsidies, and $4 billion by using IRS data to prevent ineligible payments - that's a solid way to save a lot of money with a minimum of sacrifice. Not to mention he actually increased the max reward each kid could get earlier.

Well to me it certainly seemed to be the case. What with so many news sites claiming that this was a new era and all the hype that went into the first black president circle jerk. I'm sure that there were people who voted for him because they liked his policies, but I am even more sure that the majority of people who voted for him did so because he was black and because they were following the hype caused by the media.
Hell, I would have voted for him if I was an american. It was a noble cause. Still, it sucks that he turned out to be a (from what i've heard from the majority of my american friends) shit president.

I'm pretty sure that any Democratic candidate would have won. Obama was elected because he wasn't a Republican.
Mind you, it's true that he was massively overhyped as the country's first black president. People seemed to think that he'd be the greatest ever and would solve all the world's problems. It's natural that there'd be a hype backlash when people found out he was a mere human.
