  1. Japanese magazine Famitsu has officially declared that the PlayStation 3 had the best games library in 2010.

Of the 516 games Famitsu reviewed last year, 77 of 103 (75%) PS3 games, 65 of 97 (67%) Xbox 360 titles, and 27 of 43 (62%) Wii games earned at least 30 out of 40 points. While this may not be the most scientific of methods for declaring a winner of the console war, it does point to Japan's love of the PS3.

Nintendo did edge Sony out in the portable category though, with 58 of 117 (50%) games making the cut, over the PSP's 56 of 130 (43%). Mobile + Japan (or America) = Nintendo. Still.

Perhaps an American publication could follow suit so we could see how things did in the states? We all know Japan's taste for games is a bit... unique.

What do you think? Should magazines declare console winners?

  3. I've never really thought any console to be better than the others. They all have great games and they are all fun to play.

  6. I didn't realize the console war only applied to 2010.

Regardless, I wish it was truly over. I can't wait for the day when I can have talks about video games without someone turning it into some console war debate.

    Competition is good though.

    Agreed.

I'll take some healthy competition, just leave out all the fanboy faggotry that the console war is full of.

  10. I always preferred handheld consoles because I never actually find myself sitting in front of a TV playing video games very often.
Mostly because by the time I get home I have stuff I'd rather do on the computer.

  11. I declare that WATER is Wet!!! and that McDonalds is the Largest Fast Food chain on the Planet! - I know Japan went out on a limb to make their winner proclamation so I thought I'd do the same.

This is pic is actually acurate....since you'd have to be CRAZY to like Xbox more than PS3 at this point.

And now lets take another magazine that declares the exact opposite. That xbox is more versatile, has more red rings of entertainment, etc. bla bla.

console wars will never stop. It is some sort of an allround marketing strategy for all those companies.

There's one every generation. I still have a advertisement from Atari 2600 vs Intellevision.
