I absolutely love a pear shape on a woman. It is so sexy. Yet I haven't seem this on a Japanese woman. Is it rare for this to happen? I draw my manga women with pear shaped bodies.

certain foods+genetics=pear shape

I would find it extremely baffling for one of the principle body morphologies to be entirely absent in any substantial human population.
With that said, there does seem to be an extreme bias towards the tube and hourglass bodytypes in japanese artwork. It seems that the most likely place for you to find pear-shaped girls is in lolicon artwork. Most lolis are tube shaped, and they're pretty much never hourglass, but there's a significant minority of pear shaped lolis.
