I want to test out a style combining manga and natural features (a bit like normal sketching). The result would be a more natural looking character that is still manga.
Look at this image and say if it's manga-esque. If you don't think so imagine it with for example, traditional manga eyes. And comment.

Anyways, I think it does look manga-esque while keeping some realism. I'm sure some other mangakas have done that before, but not sure of any titles in particular...

The truth is that most current manga doesn't conform to this definition, so manga is in effect "whatever the hell you want it to look like as long as it's a comic from Japan"

I'm probably understanding you incorrectly but when I think natural looking manga, I think "Is". I remember the first time I saw it, I couldn't tell if it was a picture or a drawing.
As far as I know manga can be as realistic as a photo if you wish to draw it like that.
Yes, manga can look natural.
Though, I personally don't like manga that try to look too realistic.
How much realism an artist puts into his or her work is entirely up to the artist.
Some of which have exclusively dedicated fans, who routinely buy out all prints of initial runs.
You would first have to establish yourself and graddually build up a following. It ain't gonna happen over night.
Though if you dedicate yourself to have a specific personal standard, it can pay off, depending on what kind of fans gavitate to your work.

I like to call modern manga art "simplified realism". Art that tries to make the butt-ugly creatures that are humans into attractive beings by removing all that is unattractive and adding a little bit of sugar and spice and everything nice.

Drawn natural to me is the opposite of super deformed of intentionally exaggerated.
The girls offered in the above images for instance have ordinary sized shaped noses. Thus real looking.
I don't mind the art clearly not being photo realistic. But when you draw a person 300% larger than a real human, or their nose is a pencil shape or they look like the shape of produce ie an orange, it is clearly not the same as 'natural'.
I don't mind anime eyes, but after that, it gets intrusively artificial looking.
I like realistyc manga, but I like it better when they don't draw perfect people... like Death Note, most of the main characters look like models, when they are meant to be regular people and that just takes me out of the story, its distracting.
I like better when a character that is a average person looks like a average person...
I wonder why there aren't any demotivators that discourage groping posted - I'm surprised none of the trolls in Japan have made any and put them up themselves for a few lulz

Honestly, if you were to release a manga with that kind of art (cleaner of course), I'd totally buy it. Loving how you drew bayonetta.
