I'm studying at college and I've always wondered why there are so many more females on campus than males. (Of course, I'm not complaining. Hehe.) Women pretty much outnumber men by 2 to 1 at my campus. It got me thinking about discrimination and I ran across this article on the internet.

That's a looong article and I don't really want to read it now.
But I will say that my school is also roughly a 2:1 girl:boy ratio. And of the boys here, half of them are gay. I don't really know how that affects my "chances". I think it'll just end up w/ most of the girls staying single or becoming lesbians.
But the high number of girls does result in a lot of girls in my club. Which is much more then other schools have. Other anime clubs I've heard about are all sausage fests. Or so I've heard.

Hehe, well a fair number of the girls do cosplay. And they're cute too.

Actually, the club has turned into an otaku social thing where people keep hooking up. Last year we had like 5 new couples formed. People come here for the romance it seems.

The human birth ratio of boys to girls is roughly 1 to 1. So why is it that colleges are admitting girls over boys 2 to 1? (During my grandparent's generation the college gender ratio was reversed.)
I thought that males might be being discriminated against so I searched on the internet and found that article that explains it in detail and so much more.
It's definitely a worthwhile read.

I agree that modern society gives women a greatly unfair advantage over men, despite constant claims of the opposite. However, if that's all that the article is going to discuss then I see no reason in me reading all of it since I've already heard this stuff countless times before.
From my experience, woman always have the better scenario than man in school, univ, or work. In school and univ, I noticed that some of male teacher give better mark for girls than for boys. In work, I know several companies who only recruit woman. But the reliability of the woman works that I know almost 50% of them are just a joke (some don't even know how to use winword properly). They cannot do anything and keep leaving after a year. But I think those companies never learn.
For the college case that OP mentioned, I actually really don't understand what the girls are doing in college. During my univ day, I had several friends who are girl. Most of them like just enjoying holiday there. They never study except the day before exam, never did any homework (copy paste from someone or ask the boyfriend to do it), rarely attend the univ, returning to dorm past midnight, etc. I tried to think about the reason girls in college that time but I just gave up and decided that what they are doing in college is to find Alpha male.
I understand that for women, it's different than men. For women, it's better for them to find the best possibly male(handsome, muscular, and rich) than settle down with average or below male. Even if they become #2 or mistress, it's still better than with average male where they need to suffer for the rest of their life(at least if you marry rich guy, your life is much easier).
There are several cases that I read on the news recently regarding women.
1st one is regarding a divorce case.
After married for 15 years and having 2 children, the wife filed a divorce and asking for SG$450K per month for 27 months. What the hell!? It's more than 100x better than my salary. Well, it's an easy money for women, isn't it?
Case 2 is regarding mistress
Two women in China, who have been dating the same man, jumped into the Yellow River to show how much affection they have for him and also in the hope of snagging a BMW. Wow, I just respect their determination in getting the BMW.
The last one might not related but it's still something that make me think lower for women. The news is about pregnancy. Over 86 girls pregnant in one school, they just like spreading their legs to anyone who said "I love you" to them. Or don't tell me doujinshi based on this school. Teacher raep students, students raep each other. 86 is a big number, not counting those who keep silent and do abortion quietly.
Anyway, an average man like me just don't stand a chance.
