... What?
This makes sense, China can buy up all the land as it comes on the market through a front company.
Before you know it all of the Japanese are mere tenants on Chinese owned real estate. And the Chinese can just tell the Japanese; "you don't like it? Then GTFO!".
*waits for the shit storm to break in international news.
-_-*

Your comment makes less sense each time I read it.

I know the US government can seize any foreign owned property if relations with said country break down.
They can never get it bad it's a loss.
Not sure what Japan can do on this.
But seeing how China treats it's own land I would not allow the Chinese to own any land inside my country.
They'd probably use anything they buy as a toxic waste dump.
But I remember back in the 90s it seemed like Japan was buying everyone's property.
ok, sorry for my previous post in this thread, i am terrible speaking english, but i mean my message was correct interpretating
...it's a freaking consolate. It's not like they're buying a city.
I wish both Japan and China would be more open to eachother.... not like that'll happen anytime soon. =w=

It could happen if China ever became a democracy as their present government is not the kind of regime one can trust.
If this becomes successful, I fear China will resort to this strategy as an "alternative" to claiming islands...
Most countries allow themselves to be the final owner of all land no matter what. Most likely no different in Japan since many of its laws are based on US ideas even before we won WW2 they based alot from ours due to the industrial revolution taking place only 20 years before WW2. anyway china and japan will keep hating each other and creating interesting situations for generations until either one kills the other one dies or one settles for peace(lulz)
it's just for a consulate it's not that bad.
It's China.
Buying lands in foreign country -> probably a new version of colonialism or an old form of colonialism we are not aware of

China plans on building a self sustaining city in Idaho. Look it up.
It you would consider Chinatowns as this, then they've been doing it for a long time
