Basically if you can slow him from a distance karthus is dead. He excels at either denying a team a fight / escape with wall of death and keeping people out of his range with really strong AOE. If you can stop him moving then he can be ignored for the rest of the fight as he cannot get into range to get his abilities off & can be blissfully ignored until last (which you should always do)

that's not the reason he's picked though. other than his ult, he is the best late game mage with the highest dps. while his wall is an excellent zoning tool, it is better for catching enemies, shredding their MR and make laywaste easier to land. the other good thing about karthus is that he can clear secondary objectives (drake & baron) quickly -at level7 with red & blue buff, he can solo drake. as far as resetting fights go, janna is the best.

if karthus gets picked on first, he's just getting caught out of position. as with other mages, he wans to be behind his team at all times with the only exception being some enemy dashes to him and is dealing tons of damage, in which case he wants to move into the middle of the fight to get the best damage from both his passive and defile.

  3. That rammus is most impressive. As I learn this game more,I'm beginning to learn that it's more fun to be a team player by playing Tank/support/Ad carry and no one likes being support/tank and everyone wants to be "OMG I GOT ALL THESE KILLS,LOOK AT ME!"Instead of being the guy that carries those characters/team to victory. With that said I'm having a hard time learning Alistar. He's fun though and has helped an all range team to victory lol.

  4. I just had a game where I was counter jungled by a rammus. And I was playing Shyvana.

    The hell.

I was caught off guard since he was being so aggressive. I never managed to get a red the entire game. Except for his, at the beginning. It was so annoying that he help taunting me when he stole my red. I fucking hate that.

Also he invaded my red with his entire team... Which make me glad I started at his red.

Before that game I played a draft game and I was playing top with Riven against cho... And I managed to lose my lane even though I should have bean able to get an easy first blood.

I'm pretty bad at this game lol.

i suggest playing support taric first because taric is easier, and when you do not have the runes to pull alistar off, it's pointless. the runes you want are flat armour quints and seals plus MR glyphs and choice reds. being able to pull off the headbutt-knockup combo is one thing, but a passive play style will not work for his lane. he has to always be infront of his carry, zoning the enemy by being ready to pull his combo. also, his carry needs to follow up, else he would take too much damage for nothing.

  6. Or try sona, probably the easiest support to play cos most of her spells are auto lock on and her ult is super helpful in a team fight if you can place it well

  7. Sona's pretty hard to play imo, since you have to be good at harassing. Although the game I played her I didn't run any armor runes and choose mage masteries so I ended up being extremely squishy.

  8. Yea I play her as an aggressive mage support and everyone is like "how the fuck do you do so much damage"

  9. the problem arises when you are going against a tank type support with 50+ armour & MR. building an offensive sona will go extremely wrong as you cant trade. people usually go armour seals & MR glyphs on their ranged ADs anyways, which nullifies a lot of damage. i find it safer in blind pick to run my non tanky support with my ranged AD runes because it gives me better sustain as well as consistent damage. in draft pick if you know the enemy cant trade because of your poke, by all means have some AP on.

  10. Playing AD carry with 400 ping always makes me want to rip my hair out.

  11. Is it normal that I always end up badly beaten by lux when playing annie?

yes, because you need to position better. Positioning is key. This is even more true, since lux has more range with her spells.

if minion control means anything to you, just farm such that the minions are always just outside turrent range & wait for gank. the enemy jungle would have a hard time finding opportunities & lux will eventually run out of mana. also, rush abyssal and use MR per lvl glyphs.

  14. why is Kat a viable pick for mid? even more so, why would Anyone believe she's good against Ahri?

Cos her bouncing blades mean she can pick up creeps easily while sitting back, and she has a good gap closer to get in range of champs that are squishy/usually best played from a distance

  16. kat requires an aoe CC heavy team to work. not the best of picks. because of her bouncing blades, she pushes a lot -wait for jungler to gank. the other thing is she would want to pull her QE combo. use that to your advantage to land charm, Q, & fire foxes. in general, only use charm as a counter harass tool and never for initiation against kat.

  17. Someone chose Zyra in a game the other night which left me with Miss Fortune.

I have gotta learn more champs. I totally forgot how to play MF.

  18. I should probably take a break from LoL. This last week I could barely concentrate while playing it because I've had other things on my mind. Last night I played a few games and did completely horrible in all of them. It would probably be best if I just don't play for a while.

Posted 9 months ago # Quote
  19. part of doing well in the game is knowing your enemies, so yeah play more champions. try out all the weekly free champs. you may or may not find something you like but at least you know how each champion would operate & thus would be able to plan how you want to go about playing against them.

i've played a good chunk of the champions myself except for brand, draven, hecarim, and jax.

  20. I hate to say this but you should just learn basic mechanics. If you can do that then it will be really easy for you. I mean sure I play dota and it makes LoL a lot easier to play because I have less to think about/do in LoL. So, yeah learn to position and control better and learn the mechanics behind the game and you will improve drastically. It is the same with any game really.
