All I know about him is that his ranged mode kinda sucks and is only good for laning. And he's good for ganks because of his knockback and the speed gate thing.
He seems like he'd be good in a lot of match ups though since his wide variety of abilities.
Btw has anyone seen the new champ. He's out in PBE... I'm really not looking forward to him coming out. I don't really know why I just don't like him.

having played jayce as a bruiser, ranged AD, & a jungler, i feel confident to say he's definitely a top tier champion that should be played more.
as a jungler, his ganks are superb like lee sin's. opening with a surprise accelerated Shock Blast then switching back to hammer mode to use To The Skies following up with a knock back secures the gank if the enemy doesnt have an escape. should the enemy have an escape, i swap back to cannon mode for another accelerated Shock Blast to secure the kill.
top lane jayce is very strong & has good zone control, allowing him to safely use hammer mode to regain lost mana to continue the pounding.
ranged AD jayce is my favourite by far. while his auto attack range is short, his harass with accelerated Shock Blast combo can easily take down almost half of the enemy ranged AD in one shot. i build ranged AD jayce like corki & during late game, i do my best to kite the enemy with my magnificent range. in a team fight, i do require good positioning to excel. the quick 3round burst from Hyper Charge shreds everyone easily. and should anyone be in my face, i just switch to hammer mode & throw them away.
finally, tank jayce: he has brilliant initiate and disengage. if someone is spotted out of position even in the slightest, using Gate then switching to hammer mode for a To The skies nets an easy kill. however, that is not the best part of tank jayce. if the enemy tank tries to initiate on an out of position ally, i can use my knock back to reset the fight. in the middle of a team fight, my favourite part about tank jayce is that i can also simply jump to the enemy ranged AD carry & knock the enemy team's main late game damage source out of the fight, effectively making the team fight a 5v4.
