This question really came to mind with that CF topic. I mean...yeah, it's screwed up. But $1000 is decent chunk of income. I'd like to say I would, and it's logically sound in my head, but I don't think I'd be able to actually handle doing it for some reason. I'm perfectly fine with paying money for an animal to die, why am I not cool with being payed to do it?

Honestly probably yeah. It would make my fake feeling hurt, but if it was legal and I didn't have any better job opportunities...

Yeah, that's a good point. Maybe if I had to in order to survive or maintain my standards of living. You can certainly do worse things to make money.

Depends how fast is the death? If its a slow death then no, Not a Sadist, Don't give a shit.
If the death was quick, yeah sure, but I won't do it for fun or pleasure. Only if I need the cash, like if I'm getting chased by the mob or somethign.

Look at it in terms of income and it's immense, Omomo. And good point, I'd kill a fish for $1000 easily. Still might feel a bit bad, but not much.

I wouldn't do it for $1000, but if times were tough and it was a reliable source of income...probably. I like cats so its a tough one to answer.

No problem whatsoever. I'd do it for pretty damn cheap too (although not for free, I wouldn't be enjoying it particularly).
I've crushed mice that didn't die in the mousetrap, and I don't have any real personal love for feline or canine, so I don't see any difference. As long as I wouldn't suffer later social stigma as a result I'd totally do it.

I don't think this is hypocrisy, although it's certainly a double standard. We're morally separated from non-mammals because we don't view ourselves as existing in the same spheres.

As otaku, are we not inclined to protect cuteness in all mediums and forms?
I've never took one of my cats, (I've had 10 over the past 12 years), to be put down. If it got sick beyond healing, I shot it, held a small ceremony, buryed it, and got on with life.
