   I am new to the whole japan idols and Japan's cultural perspective. Now I know I might get smacked for this question, but bare with me. What is a Japanese Idol? The only idols I know of are like American idol and such. But when I started to see idol pictures from this site and others sites I found pictures ranging from a sexy clothed pose to full hardcore uncensored sex.

   The more I see and explore this field I notice a lot of ecchi and the like, (I found a few Idol videos too, one where she was all of a sudden playing soccer(football) and her breasts kept flying everywhere like a bat out of hell. (More soft porn really)) So are/some the Idols some sort of adult entertainer? I am not trying to offend anyone or anything I was just curious. Why pounder something you don't know when you can just ask for some answers?

   Not really, a Japanese Idol and an AV idol isn't the same thing. The Japanese idol one is more like a normal idol really, while the AV idol can pretty much be seen as their name for a porn actress/actor

   Japanese Idol = Pop Icon.

   Some like em some don't. Some obsess over them, most don't.

   Currently Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber are the same as a Japanese Idol.

   Think of it like this: you see a idol on the back of a manga credits page, she is beautiful obviously you like the woman used. You do research and find a bunch of "workplace safe" images of her. Cool! But a random link from here and there and BAM! naked. I think you see where my fascination is lead from. I've been an anime fan for a long time but recently I started to take a liking to manga and such.
