Yeah, it's obviously a main character clause, but it kinda kills the popularity poll thing.

With Noire being a consistent winner, it's a wonder nobody's rendered her as a 3d fig yet.

So far there's been a third party release of Blanc, Vert and Neptune.

Mk2 Limited had Neptune and Nepgear, now It's Neptune and Iris Heart.

Noire's been left out in the cold for too long.

They seem to prefer promoting the SEGA CPUs over the over the other consoles. Would be nice if they had they just had a figure set similar to NISA's big Disgea LE, but boy would that be expensive

Crap.

We're still not getting a Noire fig from the LE.

I hope a third-party figure maker does the honors eventually. CH just doesn't get it...

Well they don't have to match 100%. Just look at Neptune. Neither the 32x nor the proposed Neptune systems were colored purple.

I thought about those 2 while looking at Yellow Heart for these reasons:

~Hair - The 3DO was developed in the West, so they made her a blondie. Could also possibly be connected to the Bee mascot of Hudson Soft (who worked in tandem with NEC for the PC Engine) whose color matches the hair as well.

~Body type - The early Japanese PC Engine had a white model (same with the PCE Duo and Duo RX), and some of the bigger specs of any home console during it's heyday. No body feature matches for 3DO, but it also has the "bold specs but lack of support and prohibitive pricing" clause.

The PC Engine seems closer though, since it was intended as a Famicom competitor. White Heart's look in V is that of the Japanese Famicom.

The reason why you probably didn't see the connection is because you might have just looked at the Turbo-Grafx 16 import model, which was black since day one.

Since this is a Japan-made game, you have to look at the console platforms from their side of the fence.

I think you're right about that. Looking at her body suit and comparing it to the Japanese PC engine color scheme, there are similarities.

Now what's left to finally see her human form.

Yellow Heart will probably represent either NEC's PC Engine or Panasonic's 3DO. Both are big-ass machines who were ahead of their time, but ridiculously expensive compared to the low-powered but well-established consoles.

While there are no more random encounters, if you kill a weaker enemy on the field without initiating an encounter, you don't get any benefits.

I can't really say much, since I haven't played the first game, haha. There are turn-based attacks, but you directly control the character's movement on the battlefield during their turn, so I personally didn't mind.

Personally, I don't like Neptunia since it's a turn-based game;
Don't get me wrong, turn-based games aren't bad, but it's just feels slow and more repetitive.

Not to mention random encounters piss me off and the screwy healing system didn't help

Maybe when I have time I'll pick it up, but for now I'll pass

You actually bring up some good points. Way better than what the actual company can manage.

If you ask about things like this in their forums, they'll either stay mum, do BS coverups, have their mods lay the ban hammer threat, or mobilize the shill fanboys to spam the place up.

Though if other smaller companies can manage it, why they insist on not doing so will keep them where they are: On the verge of a growth spurt but in stasis due to an inflexible mindset.

That's why I go straight to the source nowadays instead of settling for the inferior LLC.

Memory issues in that case... both Persona 3 FES, p3p and P4 fill their discs (be it DVD or UMD).

Persona 4 Arena will have Dual Audio, however...

I think there's some licensing issues with japanese VA in most games. that's also a problem.

Well, the whole "dual audio" is a bit recent. even in ps2 there's not many examples for big companies.

If you're gunning for the figures, get the Japanese version limited. NISA's probably gonna fuck over people again with useless playing cards at the NA release.

But none of the Persona games nor Catherine have been given that treatment. Hence my opinion that Atlus USA sucks still stands.

If they can do it for their second stringer titles, why not do it for the bigger ones?

I have no respect for a localization outfit who treats their fanbase like moronic sheep. I usually reserve that degree of contempt for Atlus USA, but NISA kinda ruined it for me back in Mk2.

I play both sides of the fence, so I'm critical about these kinds of changes. I appreciate the option of dual language audio (something Atlus USA has never done even in the era of BD), but this practice irks me.

Yellow Heart will probably represent either NEC's PC Engine or Panasonic's 3DO. Both are big-ass machines who were ahead of their time, but ridiculously expensive compared to the low-powered but well-established consoles.

Ugh, the release date got moved from July to August. Then the DX Pack will come on September.

It's common knowledge though that both versions will come with the artbook.

Between enjoying the game immediately or waiting an extra month for a wallscroll and mini-posters that I probably won't even use, I'd go for the former.

I just hope the figures are the same size as the ones back in the Mk2 limited.

There are no pictures of the extra swag. A Noire figure would be nice, or one of Iris Heart.

I'm really surprised by this- I didn't see this coming. I hope someone knows since I got nothing...

On another note, I saw they had they even more expensive edition other than the Limited edition coming out.

"Yellow Heart"? Where'd she come from? My guess is that there's a fifth country being introduced in the new game, based on another big video game company; one that possibly doesn't exist anymore.

Uni's hat and weaponry made me think of Mami from Madoka Magica, instead.

BTW, Noire probably keeps using one-handed swords in Neptunia V, right?

Liking it as well. It lets you really appreciate the upgraded models. I personally am really liking Noire's HDD form a lot. :3

Indeed, though I prefer her new human-form outfit in this game. It gives more of an adventuress vibe. Actually, it looks a little bit like Uni's 'gunner' cosplay from the previous game.

I recall that the Tunnel Armor's in-game description said that Noire had made it for her sister herself (and didn't appear fazed when Blanc remarked that Uni looked the sluttiest of the cosplaying CPU Candidates).

Hazandyne said:
I have no respect for a localization outfit who treats their fanbase like moronic sheep. I usually reserve that degree of contempt for Atlus USA, but NISA kinda ruined it for me back in Mk2.

Arfoire I understand, not many Westerners know the term "Magicom" anyway (though in the first Neptune artbook, the name change affected one of the 4-panel gags, and a handful of people might've been left wondering what "Magiquone" was). Ditto with NISA, it's a company avatar.

But PIRACHU? They might as well have named him "Electric Mouse" or "Dirty Rat".

I play both sides of the fence, so I'm critical about these kinds of changes. I appreciate the option of dual language audio (something Atlus USA has never done even in the era of BD), but this practice irks me.

Keeping Warechu intact would've still made sense since it can be read like "Warez" which is also loosely used in the software piracy world.

Instead, they took the 'tard route and pirated a Pokeymon name.

Pikachu + Pirate = Pirachu.

Gag.

I don't think it's that stupid... 'Pirachu' sounds better to my barbarian ear than 'Warechu', anyway. I guess you hate the fact that Vert's name is pronounced without a silent 't' in the English version. It doesn't really matter to me, since it recalls the word 'virtual', and the other CPUs don't all hold fast to names based on colors.

PS, Vert's English voice has made me an instant fan of Tara Platt. Any predictions over who might voice Pururut/Iris Heart in the English-language version?
