I get what
Hmm...

"Learn Japanese in the fastest,
easiest and most fun way"

Anything that claims this is automatically out in my book for serious study. If you want to know exactly what you're saying to people without letting off stereotypes or creating misunderstandings, the best way to learn the language is in intensive study of grammar, culture, and direct experience. Books like JSL (by Jorden and Noda, accompanied with their proper JWL and such) are a little outdated, but they work best in context because they don't just teach you how to say things--they teach you how to empower your thinking to that of a native and get across real suggestive meanings with your words, too--something that only sounds a bit much to those who haven't experienced problems with it before.

It's the difference between asking for what you want and getting what you want... and asking for what you want and getting the exact opposite, despite being told kindly that they can get it for you, no problem. Or making yourself sound like the representative of a company instead of the lowly worker you really are. Or just sounding like a foreigner who is on vacation in Japan when you've been living there for 10 years and beyond.

These things count. Unless, of course, your intent is to only learn it for the sake of anime, games, etc. or to actually just pay a visit and make friends you'll never talk to again or something temporary and/or of small priority to you. If that's the case, then go right ahead. I think that's what these programs are made for, assuming one isn't THAT serious about their study. "Fast" and "easy" do not accompany any kind of fluency.

I only give this advice because I've come across people who take this kind of thing as "serious study" and either eventually give up because it's not working out, or they think it is working out and they only make themselves sound foolish when they put what they know into practice.

I get what you're saying, and I was kind of expecting something along the lines of what you said. Though, I've been listening to their podcast and it does exactly what you described as "what they don't do", it doesn't just go through the basic, formal grammar/wording but it gives you an insight in how they really speak in japan, through various voiced scenarios and so on. That's why I wondered if their site had that same approach as their podcast. It's the same people so why not.

But i still wanna know what I'm getting before I subscribe, so I wanna hear from someone who has.
