Recently released PSP RPG Shining Ark has been attracting praise for the excessively high quality of its character designs and art (gameplay being another matter), with what look to be some of Tony’s most accomplished artwork to date – even if the PSP’s now pathetic hardware hardly seems to do them justice.
Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus – which has just achieved record sales for the franchise with 120,000 copies shipped and downloaded – is surprisingly proving popular for reasons beyond its incredible gameplay and ground-breaking graphics, with a “changing room trick” uncovered which allows hitherto unobtainably low angle views.

Square Enix has been revealing more of its final effort to milk Final Fantasy XIII dry in the form of Lightning Returns, and along with some gorgeous graphics (by ancient PS3 and 360 standards at least), the controversial evolution of Lightning’s ensemble seems to be in full swing.
Atelier Meruru Plus, the next PSV port of the Atelier series, is nearing release – and looks to be so overflowing with “high impact” violence and sexual references that it will have no trouble securing another R18+ endorsement from Australia’s new and already totally discredited censorship regime.
Australian censors have rated moe alchemy RPG Atelier Totori Plus as “R18+” for its “references to sexual violence,” “high impact” violence, “moderate” sex, and “themes” – a higher rating than they found fit to give any of the GTA, Hitman or Call of Duty games.
