Konami seems to be busy – now they bring Shakugan no Shana to us in figumated form, due for release on the 21st, and available in just about every variety of Shana, as well as side characters (below).
How will this fair against the upcoming nendoroid Shana? At a mere ¥500 each, it may not be a fair comparison, although the finish seems nice enough (actually it seems rather good). Bandage Shana is rare – thank goodness…
I am a devoted fan of this illustration, so seeing the latest figure compelled me to post. No wonder Type Moon’s illustrations are so sought after. Also some more puchi nendoroid type images are provided…
There’s plenty of coverage of Wonder Festival, and a fairly full digest is already published, but not too many sites actually bothered to prepare a delicious cake figure gallery… except one notable site, of course. Also plenty of /d/ type figures. Intrigued?
Tactical espionage moe? These Figumate figures provide an interesting reimagining of Snake, Otacon, Raiden and Ocelot. Rather more desirable than the crusty old commando himself, though this would hardly be difficult. Due for release December 11th, as a set of four, in the region of ¥3,000.
Wonder Festival 2008 Summer stayed open despite the escalator carnage, and so naturally this means a look at the fine crop of figures being exhibited there has been provided by a variety of sites.
What caught my eye is below – in particular, you’ll note the excellent Touhou figures, more Valkyria Chronicles figures, including Selvaria, some belated Odin Sphere figurage, and of course Tears to Tiara figures. Yoko seems to be much in evidence.

Ten people have been injured in an escalator accident at Wonder Festival, at least one apparently severely injured with a broken leg; the escalator is said to have been overloaded, although staff were present.
Some 50 people on the errant machine were knocked down, and looking at the heights they could have fallen from, it is fortuitous that no fatalities ensued.
The gorgeous new Melissa Seraphy nendoroid figure was touched upon earlier, but what has to be the definitive and by far most amusing review/figure manga is brought to us by Choudai, creator of the noted (or perhaps notorious) Fate condensed/milk saga. Some detail emerges of Goth Punk Mikuru, the spiritual companion to the splendid Gothic Lolita Haruhi. As with Haruhi, it is undeniably a top rank figure of excellent craftsmanship and artistry. Why the recent sudden flood of interesting Haruhi figures? Sheer popularity, it would seem.
One of the more strikingly erotic figures to come out recently – 野山野林檎 / Noyamano Ringo, of Air Gear, in her hentai kamen, or pervert mask, version (mask below). Maskless version is rather good, too. The care which has gone into sculpting straps taut against flesh is rather obvious; best to have a closer look then…
As if swimwear Fuuka and Ena weren’t enough, Yotsuba&! fans now have 7-11 Fuuka and 7-11 Danbo (Miura in a cardboard robot suit), both released as promotional limited run to promote 7-11’s online store (7-11 being the leading convenience store chain in Japan). Fuuka even gets one of her terrible T-shirts as an extra.
With the recent intensification in Nendoroid releases, it seems a look what the latest crop offers might be in order. Some rather nice puchi renditions are on display, so without further adieu…
