The top anime characters that initially possessed supreme power only to decline into being a minor nuisance have been ranked according to voter opinion, as many of Dragon Ball’s fighters unsurprisingly occupy the list after being reduced to a nondescript stepping stone for the show’s unstoppable protagonist.
1. Yamcha (Dragon Ball) 2. Master Roshi (Dragon Ball) 3. Piccolo (Dragon Ball) 4. Toguro (Yu Yu Hakusho) 5. Frieza (Dragon Ball) 6. Crocodile (One Piece) 7. Tenshinhan (Dragon Ball) 8. Buggy the Clown (One Piece) 9. Warsman (Kinnikuman) 10. Jun Uozumi (Slam Dunk)

I don't know what a Yamcha is but it sounds disappointing.
and wasn't Buggy always weak? He got beat by Luffy easily before he gained the power to protect his mates
Not to mention Buggy become a Shichibukai, he is a big shot now.
JeZuiSPuggy
this list brings memories of when anime manga wasn't so focused on harem stories.
Piccolo? huh? he's one of the few characters in DBZ that manages to stay more or less strong trough the whole series.
Right? Swap him out with Kuririn.
Krillin was never strong
krilin was always weak.
Even though Krillin was the joke character somehow he always found himself in the middle of some of the most important story arcs of the series. He even let Yamcha and the women run off as he fruitlessly attacked Super Buu and did it again with Kid Buu. The guy has guts for a coward
There's some discussion about whether Krilin or Tenshin-han are the strongest pure-blood humans in DBZ universe. Due to his participation in the Frieza arc, Krilin was thought to be the strongest for a long time but during the Cell arc, Krilin barely managed to escape with his life from incomplete, just-hatched Cell, while Tenshin-han managed to keep immobilised Cell for one hour and that was after Cell merged with Android 17 and had absorbed thousands of people. (Admittedly at the cost of repeated uses of his life-shortening ultimate technique.)
Also, Piccolo is the strongest non-Saiyan in the whole universe. Far from a damp squib.
But he's stronger than Yamcha, Tenshinhan, Yajirobe, Chiaotsu, Chichi, & Mr. Satan. Doesn't that count for something?
Krilin's supposed to be the strongest human by DBZ time...
I dunno Piccolo was still badass from time to time.
Toguro, Buggy, and Crocodile did not become irrelevant at all.
Buggy is becoming quite famous.. fine, he is no op as hell, but fame = power.
Crocodile helped against a few opponents during the escape, and showed he could still fight.
Toguro simply fought the wrong guy (like with every other anime) and lost.. he could still kick some butt.
Toguro wanted to lose. His whole thing was redemption through death. That's why he "killed" Kuwabara.
Jelly that he got to tap young Genkai.
I thought the same thing, Crocodile was a beast at Marineford. Buggy is like Joker without the actual villainy so he doesn't really matter, and Toguro was just balls out badass either way.
Buggy was a comedic character to begin with. He's a clown. He wasn't ever meant to be a huge, imposing enemy. He hasn't got any business being on this list.
This is why I never watch 'fighting' Anime, they are all so 2D in development.
They should included some of Bleach characters on this list like Renji Abarai.
Poor Freiza, he was the MOST POWERFUL BEING IN THE UNIVERSE and then 2 weeks later the Andoird are a 1000x more powerful than Freiza ever was.
Every new enemy is 1000x more powerful than the last.
He shall regain his full glory with the upcoming DBZ Movie.
that movie smeel at shitt.
Poor yamcha.
Freiza is going to have a new form in the new movie to make him relevant again in the power levels lol
Yamcha, no doubt about it.
How did Toguro become a minor nuisance later on? He died in their final fight and remained an important catalyst for the MCs growth. They didn't even show him anymore when the arc was done. Also Crocodile. Sure he was defeated early on but he's still easily in the upper tiers in the series. The only reason he lost in the first place was because he was too full of himself that he didn't kill Luffy when he could've during their first two encounters. :)
Thinking the same thing. If anything, Toguro's arc went in exactly the opposite direction: he started out as a moderate/substantial threat, then became more and more powerful until he became the main enemy of an entire arc, who took an epic final battle to defeat.
Though perhaps the other Toguro brother might qualify.
How was Yamcha ever powerful?
he was a joke/comic-relief character from pretty much the first second on.
His first defining trait was that he shat himself when girls came to close to him after all.
Piccolo kept up pretty well in my opinion, not being a sayian and all...
And he never really became irrelevant.
even though the heroes become weak by comparison, the androids still seem to be able to keep up with goku in gt. if dr gero had released his most powerful creation first, the saga would have ended half way through z-saga. but since goku could easily destroy the planet if he wanted, what then, is the android made of that goku couldn't just rip it apart at ssj4? i had to call BS and pretended GT never happened.
That's not Koizumi on last pic
Well mMster Roshi went from a "super-powered" ecchi to just a perverted old man, so no big whoop there.
Yamcha was really cool in Dragon Ball, in fact many of the side characters were great. They all got killed off to show how powerful the new baddies were which was sort of lame.
What about Tsumugu from Kill la Kill?
He almost kicked Ryuko's ass without powers in his first appearance and then did nothing else of note right to the end of the series.
Hyuuga Neji says Hello!
Nice! I don't see Kinnikuman on here much
I loved Yamcha specially after his fight with Ten in Dragon Ball, it´s kind of sad how he lost relevance after that.
opso the poll consists of mostly DB and OP.
might as well list every character in DB that isn't goku lol
how is master roshi even alive dude is mad old
He's immortal.
He can die by wounds, and such, but age can't kill him.
fountain of youth wasn't it?
Yeah.
This is literally the only list i've ever seen on this website that I actually sort of agree with. Except Piccolo. He was still doing ANYTHING by the time the series ended so I can't say I agree with you there.
Piccolo became somehow the main protector of Netherworld after DBGT;meaning he can kick Frieza,Cell's butts and others that Goku killed in past anytime.
Why isn't Piko on this list?
Boku to Piko?
You know a Top 10 list is serious when one of the rankings is a...basketball player?
That's not even Uozumi in the picture... -_-
Piccolo should no 1 , but Yamcha has famous NTR
Oh well.......
Nah, Yamcha is rightfully number 1 on the list. Piccolo remained relevant as a fighter up through the Cell saga, and even managed to maintain a mentor role later on. Yamcha on the other hand went from bad ass bandit king to beta male comic relief before Goku had even hit puberty.
And let's not forget how accurately his beta male status is portrayed in some of the most recent Abridged series...
it's dbz, not db
in dbz, most of db characters are useless (e.g. lunch)
Lunch wasn't useless, she made good eye candy.
DBZ became the Sayan show.
