Renowned violinist Lindsey Stirling of YouTube fame has released her own rendition of Kurousa-P’s highly recognized Vocaloid song Senbonzakura, living up to the original tune’s reputation while maintaining its own unique flair.

According to wikipedia, she is super popular and has charted well. I was surprised because this is the first time I've heard of her.
She only became popular via Youtube, and recently managed to release her first widely distribute album. Just an artist starting off really. This is the first site I've ever heard anyone saying anything bad about her though.
With her Link cosplay and carefree attitude, I had expected her to be better received here. But people seem almost irrationally defensive in some way, or otherwise just really friggin bitter and quick to hate. >_>

Wow, very talented violinist, music wise 3D=2d or 3D>2d; that said, had a very hard time watching that clip, had to have it on another tab. Scary as heck. This coming from someone who just ate chili n medium-raw steak whilst watching unedited Goto Kenji's unfortunate sad end.

I didn't like Lindsey's cover. I didn't like the song and she pissed me off lol, the dance was dumb and I don't know what it is about her face in it, but it had the beiber effect on me, Instant hate.
I think the reason it failed to me was she tried to make the song something it wasn't. She added to much shit on certain parts and it messed up I guess you could say the flow of the song. It also just didn't feel the same. :\ too much tampering.
go youtube violin covers and you can easily find people less well known and who did a much better job.
oh well, theres many other people that do covers on the net that I enjoy. :3 just found someone that does good english covers of songs *mind is shocked.*

i played the violin suffice to say,prefer classical ones and loads of Puccini and Wagner operas.Probably i maybe wrong or maybe right,all i saw is all marketing hype.Nothing more,nothing less;just being frank.

well,if you want real talent,you should check the first place winners of Tchaikovsky International Violin Competition.One of them holds Jacha Heifetz's prized violin.

Holy shit, what's with all the bitter hate here? That cover was a beautiful rendition of the song, and thought Senbonzakua sounded incredible in violin. It was expressive as a cover piece, not a mere recital, but still kept the feeling of the original.
I really don't understand how you guys can be so against this. Genuinely stunned.
(As for the one guy regarding the dance moves, that is a pathetically shallow reason to hate on a piece of music...)
I hated it because of the prancing, the miming (she's sul tasto half the time in the video because she's concentrating on the prancing and not her bow), and quite frankly the terrible violin playing. A totally unimaginative, repetitive rendition full of off-notes. And yes I do play the violin and have professional music qualifications.
