NewType have revealed their latest character ranking for January 2015 – with the staggering popularity of Sword Art Online and Fate/stay night UBW not unexpectedly still seeing to both top spots.

Shirou Emiya of the new series is actually a well written character. it is the unlimited blade works path after all.
This time around Emiya's pretty fascinating. From his ideals to the way he thinks to that one time when he finally conjures something that isn't terrible as weapons and etc...
Because the Typemoon fanboys like him.....i prefer tons alot Ayaka Sajyou from the original Fate Prototype, she have a better plop and more stronger reasons to enter to the grial, but the type kuns prefer a "kind" guy because only have a female servant plop.

In the vn you understand him, he's not just a "kind" guy, he's kind of crazy and has a sense of guilt for being alive.
He can still be annoying, myself i don't like him that much, but you can't say it's a bad character based on stupid quotes.

Nah, these lists are always characters from the last maybe 3-4 years max.
Those characters are from 2002-2004. Obviously they'd be missing fom this list. I think you clearly must've watched gundam recently.
Joke just went over your head though. Newtype has been notoriously including those Gundam Seed characters for a long time, even when the show finished airing. (2005 was the last airing of Gundam Seed Destiny)
Heck, last 2010, Kira Yamato won 2nd best male character for the decade. In the regular that year too Kira Yamato was 4th.

2012 is when he started to disappear from the lists altogether.
