this is really good season. it's more serious and i like the story so far.
It seems like they can't win with these adaptions. People complained that they skipped so much with the first 2 arcs to make it faster paced. Now the same people are complaining that its going too slow because they're not skipping shit.

I'm gonna hold my opinion of this series until the 10th episode . Things are finally picking up now that the character's backstory is revealed . Despite what it seems , I believe that Sinon is the MC in this season . Kirito's role in this season serves mainly as the Detective/Investigator character type... whatever relationship issues that may surface will be left entirely to the viewers imagination . The only way they can ruin this is that they pull a SEED Destiny on us...
Don't like the pairing of Kirito with your 'not' favourite girl ? Do an omnibus format like Amagami . THAT is how you milk the franchise and increase DVD/BD sales...

Kirito is still the main character since he and Shinon defeat Death Gun together in the end while saving her from her rapist.
They should skip boring shit, never skip important shit, and give more Asuna. No one would complain then.

I hated the 1st season but I admit SAO season had been bearable and mildly entertaining so far, it seem this anime gets better the less Kirito is in it. All of Kirito's screentime is just like Tatsuya, just there to remind the audience how much of a Gary Stu he is.

I was mad when SAO went mainstream, Kirito was and still is my favorite character despite sounding like a hipster I enjoyed the books greatly before it became an Anime... now it's everywhere.
SAO has good voice acting, awsome crazy super music, good animation, very nice character design, good background art....clearly is a crappy anime by Sancon standards....pffff

FYI There was a backlash. I will assume that you know what happened to the company that made the Nerve Gears or whatever they were called. This was followed up by a device that the story tells us was specifically designed to not be harmful to its users, and according to the source material, VR has a stigma thanks to the SAO and AO incidents.
