Disturbingly sexualized gal-RPG developers Compile Heart have finally released a gameplay trailer for their upcoming battle idol RPG Omega Quintet for the PS4, and it is already looking to be the most adorable entry to the PS4’s scant RPG library yet, as shown in this 6 minute PV:
Omega Quintet lets players command a team of idols knowns as “Verse Maidens” who use song and dance, as well as an assortment of weaponry, to combat monsters known as the “Beep,” and uplift the spirits of mankind – although it is probably not the storyline most players will be inclined to concentrate on…
Omega Quintet is due for release September 18th on the PS4.

Looks like a PS2 game or early PS3 games...i dont undestand Japan with all the technology cant make video game graphics. I will be surprised if by the end of the PS4 era japan games reach Uncharted 3 level of detail.

The faces look really off in the game. Everything else about the characters looks great and they animate so well, but the faces just seem so lifeless.

Make SOMETHING OF QUALITY! I've bought your shit constantly like a cosmic joke hoping you improve, but I stopped 3 games ago because you just never fucking learn. I can only sit here and hope this one isn't going to be as shit.
I don't listen to reviews ever, but this company's games are the only ones I do. I have to simply pray the games improve over time, that's all I have left for them.

1) Compile Heart operates on a small budget.
2) If they release this as PS4 game first they can later re-release as VITA game for double profit. And yes it looks the same (see Neptunia game remakes).
Strange that they don't release on PS3 though.

One reason for them making it PS4 is that it's the only PS4 title of its category yet (I think). That gives it something of an edge.

But PS4 doesn't sell in Japan. The Install base is ridiculously low. PS3 would have been a better choice.
there is no reason to not have higher res textures and then just make them lower res for vita and other less powerful systems. (the standard now is to make them in at least 4k - it doesn't cost more) it's the way "small budget" games are usually made to cut down on costs and time.
what they did was just reuse something they had in stock for 10 years and never bothers to clean up.
It does coest more, both in time and money. It's not a difference huge enough when you are making multiplatform games from the start, but for exclusives every penny counts.

Painting in 10x resolution isn't that much of a difference than painting in the resolution it is going to be displayed.
There's only a half million PS4 systems sold in Japan and nearly 3 million Vita handhelds sold there. Almost ALL of their sales will be on Vita.
That said, it's not even remotely difficult to scale back texture quality & polygon count, so releasing a PS4 game with PS2 graphics is insulting. And no, a limited budget does not justify it.

Unfortunately this looks like something that should run on... tablets, or something. Those are PS3 graphics. I just wish they'd push the boundaries a bit more with the polygon count.
