A new season of hardcore basketball anime Kuroko no Basket has been announced by way of the latest weekly Shonen Jump, and looks sure to excite basketball fans and the rotten contingent.
The issue of Shonen Jump:
The anime has received so much recognition and praise that a new season was all but inevitable, however no other information on the new season is currently available – though hopefully the next wave of Kuroko mania will prove less eventful than the last.

It's weird that there are no black people on the team.
It's in Japan, they're all Japanese.
black ppl suck anyway ;P
what you say doesn't change the world to make it a fact. Actually, what you say about others with bias doesn't really tell much about others. It certainly can tell a lot about you tho :)
I like how you winked at the end as if to use a friendly gesture as a scapegoat to any oncoming spite from the obviously racial hatred you just typed. ;P
It's a Japanese school team. Not very many foreigners in schools in Japan, and practically no non-Asian ethnic minorities.
There was one guy from Senegal that they faced but if you were satirically referring to the team not being black, than that's just (satirically) racist lol. Maybe it's a propoganda that asians can play as well as NBA players
yeah, good point. many people may not know but there are black people in japanese high school basketball teams, in reality. i watched a video on it so i can tell. there also are foreigners in uni teams.
I found it to be an actually quite good show so a third season is welcome.
And it's definitely better than another random slice-of-life moeblob.
...And the fat fujoshits rejoiced!
I like the arguments on this topic ;P
I know for a fact that if this were a gender-bent version of this anime, most of us wouldn't be complaining about that.
Thoughts about this show?
I never liked sport-related animes but i guess i can give it a try.
It's good for now although I'm afraid of it becoming an uncontrollable superpowers fest like Prince of Tennis did.
A great sports one being released now is Baby Steps, and Haikyuu is nice.
I watch those 2 :D Or at least, I saw ep 1 of those 2. I Plan on watching tho.
Give a try to Haikyuu!!, that's a true sport anime and if you like fanshipp, you can get your creativity running, because the anime is service-free.
I'd say that around the 3rd/4th episode you know for sure if you like it or not. just try it out :)
It's not Slam Dunk, but it's OK.
I say: Kuroko's Basket has a third season thanks to the success of Free!
No, it has a third season thanks to the success of the second season. Are you guys really this dumb? That's like saying Oreimo's second season was thanks to the success of Haganai.
This dumb news is not worth to be here.
Yes, because Sankaku only ever posts the finest caliber of news such as 'JK Head Urinator Busted' and 'Chair Kills Boy from Anal Penetration'. News about well-known anime? Never!
Woah. A chair killed a boy from anal penetration before? I hope he didn't try to do it intentionally.
Slam Dunk was better. This is entertaining, but yeah, Slam dunk to awesome.
Agreed. Everything that was vaguely good about Kuroko was blatantly ripped from Slam Dunk. Kuroko sucks so much ass.
Why is SanCom bringing some news about a sausagefest anime?
are you guys really literally incapable of accepting anything that doesnt have an underage girl showing her panties in the screen at least once per episode.
How modern otaku have fallen. Back in the day we were all about shows with manly men doing manly things like sports, from Ashita no Joe to Fist of the North Star. Now apparently its 'gay' and 'sausagefest' and we have to have moeshit instead.
I just imagine you guys having kids and making your boys play with barbies and not buying him the 'sausage fest' GI Joe set he wanted.
Kuroko? Manly show? HAHAHAHA. Next you're going to tell me Free is this generation's GaoGaiGar.
No, he implied that Kuroko was manly by comparing to past sportts/manly ANIME(not to be mistaken with actual sports); sports anime these days are nothing like what they used to be. Kuroko is in the same vein as Prince of Tennis where it glamorizes pretty sports boys and it's nothing like Ashita no Joe or Fist of the North Star(which isn't sports, by the way).
The original poster who called Kuroko "sausagefest" was probably talking about its fujoshi fanbase and yaoi undertones of the show. What's hilarious here is that the biggest supporters of Kuroko are people second anon was complaining about.
He never said Kuroko was manly, he said Sports was manly. I mean, You'd think of an athlete male as manly. Also, I don't watch kuroko, but wouldn't it be considered at least the tiniest bit manly?
Manly:
having or denoting those good qualities traditionally associated with men, such as courage and strength.
- (of an activity) befitting a man, especially in a traditional sense.
Doesn't sports, like basketball, befit a man?
that's the modern otaku's logic:
A bunch of guys doing sports and shit: Totally gay kill with fire and blast with piss.
A bunch of little girls doing moe shit: Perfectly normal 10/10.
Not all otaku. I mean, I guess some of the pervy ones think like that. Someone could think Sports animes with mainly male characters are gay, or one could think any anime with a girl showing the tiniest fan service is too girly. As long as it's fun for someone, it's all fine.
Well, Kuroko no Basket isn't a sport anime - at least they don't focus on the sport, often more at the bishonens with their 6pack.
It's like Yowamushi Pedal, at the beginning is cool and you don't mind too much the "art", but as the story goes, you see much, much more service at fujoshis.
Personally, for me it's NOT OKAY (I'm not stupid to generalize) that moeshit shows are as bad as fujoshi's show. They don't add nothing to the telespectator, only feeds them with what they want.
If you want something like that, go read H-Mangas, watch hentais or see some porn, internet is full of this.
