New Macross Anime Announced – “The First in 6 Years”

It transpires the recent rerun of Macross Frontier was worth fans watching for the umpteenth time after all – the finale ended with a surprise announcement of a new Macross series.
Details are utterly lacking but the wording of the announcement is at least fairly clear that this will be an entirely new iteration of the Macross franchise rather than a mere remake, remaster, or effort to rekindle interest in the now fairly moribund if hugely successful Macross F franchise.

the macross i liked really well is the zero-3, that was very interesting but macross frontier annoys me to the core, all those "WAKE UP GIRLS/AMERICAN IDOL" stuff that frontier showed really pissed me off.

I hope that they do an awesome anime out of this. I really hope it's not a fucking piece of shit like Frontier. It's been already 20 years since the last (and only) Macross sequel worth of it's name aired. I'm frustrated as shit that every new sequel is a new vomit; I demand Mikimoto back at the character designs and Kawamori taking the project seriously for a change.

The only thing to i see new about the classic franchise is Choujikuu Yousai Macross The First but only have for the moment 3 vols trad.
Moe hybrid? Klan featured in the absolute moment of the series. I don't think I've ever been more upset watching an anime than I was the moment Michael dies, and the music was perfect that moment (Diamond Crevasse). Now go watch episode 21 and tell me she's moe....Klan puts on a fighting display the likes of which Macross had never seen...she kills THOUSANDS of Bajira. Klan rules. She may be moe when she's little but un-microned she makes Milia seem weak.
BTW, its known what happened to the original chars.....Misa/Hikaru get married and have a daughter Miku. They're all on the SDF-2 which disappeared in 2016.

About Frontier, every character is forgettable except of Klan and Michael. What a piece of shit that anime. I really don't want to remember it.

Not likely. Its been a long time since Frontier was first announced and the one reason I was interested was to see if the girl chosen as Ranka, Megumi Nakajima, would become a rising star similar to Mari Iijima for the original series. Don't know how it turned out because I never got around to watching Frontier, partly because I had mix feelings for Macross Zero on whether it had the spirit of the series or was the antithesis of it: Seriously, I got so turned off by the final episode that not even Shadow Chronicles could outdo it.
Speaking of final episode; if I remember correctly, is Frontier the one that people hated how it ended because of the "Choice-D" decision by the main guy character? By that I mean the guy had 4 choices: A)picks Girl 1, B)picks Girl 2, C)chooses Both Girls, & D)chooses Neither Girl.
