Because 98% of the women featured here seem to be attention whores, right...? Because, seriously, I see no other way around it. There are only 3 chances: they are getting paid for it (clearly not the case), they enjoy any kind of attention in their lives, or both. Easy choice.
The poses, the clothing, image 98 with a freaking Twitter address; literally a sign saying "please pay me attention"... I know they are imitating anime characters and their behavior and that it is supposed to be "just for fun" (not to mention that Japan is much more liberal towards nudity... mostly), but still... pretty much every cosplay screams "I want attention and I want it now", and they sure know how to attract it, albeit probably not the right kind of attention from the... wrong kind of people.
I hope we speak of a minority focused by this site here though, because, if most cosplayers in this convention are like these, I am afraid attention whoring has become a fashion, at least in one country, and that is precisely how it starts... Unfortunately, I see little people would have a problem with it. I can hardly see anyone here that would have a problem with women showing skin under ANY context and circumstance. And then some of you have the nerve to criticize feminism, while openly supporting attention whoring which is pretty much concealed, "consensual" sexism.

...a number of these girls are ERO cosplayers, whom are technically being paid to do it. They're being paid because they use this as a promotional tool to sell their softcore DVDs & other related artifacts.
Furthermore, some of them have even done porn. It is a fact that 1 in 20 Japanese women have in some form or another participated in the sex industry. For example, that Shimakaze cosplayer is likely the same chick that does porn and cosplays in photoshoots, were she shows off her tight little brown anal cavity.

I am just interested, but what exactly makes you assume they are attention whores (if you look at the ones that don't advertise their twitter, cuz thats most of them)? Is it the way they stare at the camera, or the angles they are showing their body off? I do not want to assume, so I am not pulling in either side, but its just interesting, why some people decide girls are attention whores by simply looking at their pictures. If you know all of them in person, then I am sorry :)
